To the next juniors and seniors --
Advice from a Graduating Senior
I have attended ASMS for all three years. Let me tell you, it has been one heck of a ride. These past few years have been unexpected for all of us. However, these difficult times have tested and proven the advice I want to give to my upcoming juniors and seniors.

I recommend creating a schedule for yourself to balance your school life. Yes, socializing is important. However, you should schedule out your day with the work and school obligations you have and then fit free time somewhere in between. Of course, your schedule should be flexible, but it is better to shuffle tasks around in your schedule than to knock them off completely for another day.
This next piece of advice is very important: Study for those ACT/SAT tests. I know, this has been repeated multiple times by everybody, but I have to emphasize it. An ACT score can be the deciding factor between you and your dream school. Also, college is very expensive. Try to get any number of scholarships you can. Start applying now. If they don’t cover all 4 years, don’t worry. There are scholarships for undergraduate students as well as graduate students.

Finally, I’ll leave you with this: Be realistic about your wants in life and the opportunities you can acquire. If you get stressed out easily, maybe don’t go for a high intensity major. If you hate paperwork, don’t become a lawyer. I know I don’t want to go to school for +8 years, so I’m majoring in electrical engineering at The University of Alabama. Align your desires with your future path, and you’ll be on your way to a career/life you’ll be happy with.

Sincerely,
Madisson McMichael, Senior from Baldwin County

Mega Musical Chairs, A Lively ASMS SGA Tradition
By ASMS sophomore, Lex Mroczko - Baldwin County
Mega Musical Chairs is a long-standing tradition for the students at the Alabama School of Mathematics and Science (ASMS). With close to one hundred participants every year, Mega Musical Chairs is also a way for the ASMS SGA impact on the Mobile Community. All donations from the event are collected and given to a charity of the winner’s choice.
Leading the Way
Our 21-22 Jo Bonner Leadership Academy cohort closed out their year by presenting their final leadership projects and with a closing ceremony! Congratulations to this year's student leaders. We are SO proud of you and the impact you will make in your community, the state of Alabama, and the world through your leadership!

Paint It. Pass It.
Here are some paintings from the Newton Hall pass and paint! They passed the canvas around and each person had 2 minutes to add something. Then the original person got their painting back and said their interpretation of the work. One is even an alien invasion!
