Kids Corner
We want to make sure that our kids know about the farm too. Find fun pictures, games, stories, or color pages for kids.
Out at the farm there are lots of farmers working hard to grow you your food. Some of them are boys and some are girls and they are all different ages. We have young farmers that are just learning how to do things and we have some older farmers that help to teach the younger ones. Farmer Tim, who is the owner of LotfotL Community Farm, usually gets to drive the tractors. April, who is Tim's partner, gets to take care of the honeybees. We all work together to get the job done.

Special Notes
Washing greens: Effectively washing your farm fresh greens is an important step. LotFotL's 2016 greens washing policy has shifted this year as we are adopting a stronger food safety plan here at the farm. Because, leafy greens are at higher risk for bacterial contamination when they are washed, we try NOT to wash them if at all possible. Washing them right before they are eaten is a much safer practice. Check out our
greens washing 101 sheet to learn how to get your greens clean.
Potatoes: According to survey results our members are really liking potatoes in their shares. Your share contains the last of the 2015 crop. They are however, really itching to sprout. You will want to keep an EYE on their eyes and remove them if they try to sprout. For best results, you will probably want to eat your potato people sooner rather than later.

SWAP Boxes
Drop sites that qualify for SWAP boxes will have an 18 Gallon Blue Bin that contains veggies that are eligible for trade.
Remove an item from your CSA box that you don't think you will eat and trade it for something in the SWAP box that looks more appealing!
