What is a listserv?
A listserv is an email address that allows communication among a group of people. Within a listserv, everyone sends questions and comments to the same email address, which then distributes the messages to each person within the list.
Who is hosting it?
The South Carolina State Library hosts the Friends of South Carolina Libraries listserv.
What is it for?
The purpose of the listserv is to connect library Friends in South Carolina so they can ask questions and share information.
Who can use it?
Anyone who is a member of a Friends of the Library group for a public library in South Carolina is welcome to join the listserv.
Is it free?
Yes. There is no charge to use the FOSCL listserv.
How can I sign up?
To subscribe, contact Tiffany Hayes at thayes@statelibrary.sc.gov to request to be added to the Friends listserv.
Can I unsubscribe from the listserv after I sign up?

Why should I participate?
The FOSCL listserv is a fast and easy way to communicate with your fellow library Friends in South Carolina. Topics specific to library Friends can discussed and debated with fellow Friends, including membership, library staff support, community engagement, board recruitment, financial policies, fundraising, and more.
How do I post a question or comment?
To send an email to the listserv, use the email address FOSCL@LISTSERV.STATELIBRARY.SC.GOV. Include the topic or question in the subject line of the email.
How do I respond to a question or comment?
To comment on a listserv thread, reply to the email address FOSCL@LISTSERV.STATELIBRARY.SC.GOV.
