FMLA/ADA Leave Extensions
We get questions about employees who request extended leave after their FMLA leave expires. The question is whether extended leave is a request for reasonable accommodation under the ADA. Two different U.S. Courts of Appeals decided cases that draw a line between FMLA leave and the ADA requirement for reasonable accommodation.
Utah Clean Air Workshop
Over 75 professionals in printing came together along with Utah state government representatives to discuss, learn, and plan to continue the quest towards cleaner air quality in the greater Salt Lake City / five county region.

Gary Jones and Kaitlin Rundle, PIA Environmental, Health & Safety leads, shared details on the new regulations effective September 1, 2018 affecting commercial and in-plant facilities producing products via digital, offset, screen, flexography, web and large format inkjet products.

A workbook was distributed to all attendees. This along with event slides are now available to PPI Member firms outlining best practices and pathways to compliance.

Ikea Created the 'Sleepiest Print Ad Ever'
Complete with scented ink and white noise
Ikea promises you a good night’s sleep, but short of buying a bed from the global furnishings retailer, how can you enjoy the benefits? Memac Ogilvy Dubai came up with an innovative answer with its “Sömnig” print ad, featured on the back of United Arab Emirates’ Good magazine issue for April. The agency calls it “the sleepiest print ad ever made,” and the copy on the back of the magazine promises, “Everything about Sömnig is designed to help you sleep better.”
