Message from the Executive Director
As we approach the end of the year, I want to thank each and every one of you - our partners - for allowing us to do the work we do in expanding opportunity through housing mobility.

To our families - thank you for trusting us to offer you a stable home in a community of greater opportunity.

To our property partners - thank you for providing not only a home, but a pathway, for our families to have access to a better quality of life.

To our supporters - thank you for offering your generous time, talent and resources in support of our mission.

Since joining BRHP as the executive director in February, I've been working a dedicated team to refine our processes, increase our capacity to do our work better and more efficiently, and plan for the expansion of our services. As we look towards a new year and decade, I'm excited about several opportunities on the horizon for BRHP:

Making the case for housing mobility - In November, BRHP was awarded a $100,000 planning grant from the Kresge Foundation to advance health equity through housing in Baltimore. Read more in our press release.

New and improved workshops for our families - In 2020, our families will have access to new tools through a refreshed workshop series and events co-hosted with our partner organizations.

Increased engagement with our property partners - In October, we hosted our first orientation for our owners since 2016. We are building on this momentum into the new year with monthly conference call - "property partner power hours" - with our owners to discuss a range of relevant topics and gather feedback on process improvements.

Expanding our impact - This year, we performed strategic planning efforts to envision BRHP's future. We gathered feedback from a multitude of stakeholders, including our families, property partners, staff, community members and peer organizations to help us assess and inform our vision, mission, values and reach. Stay tuned for more as we implement our plan in 2020.

Refreshing our brand - This year, we made our debut into the digital world ( follow us and like us !) and we are currently updating the look, feel and functionality of our website. We can't wait to show you our new look!

Don't Wait to Update Your Information
BRHP Property Partners: It's almost time for us to mail 1099s. Do you know where your 1099 will go? Have you moved or do you have a new mailing address? Now is the time to update your record on our  Landlord Portal .To ensure your 1099 is mailed to the correct address, you must update your  Landlord Portal  information by January 15, 2020 .

2020 Special Congressional District 7 Election
The special primary election will take place on  February 4, 2020. The deadline to register to vote in the special primary election is January 14, 2020 . The deadline to request an absentee ballot is January 31, 2020 , and the deadline to complete the absentee ballot is February 4, 2020 . For more information and any questions, please visit the Maryland State Board of Elections website here . You can register to vote here . The special general election will coincide with the presidential primary election on  April 28, 2020 .
Technical Assistance Provider
BRHP is a member of Mobility Works , a consortium of housing mobility practitioners, researchers, and policy experts who promote best practices in housing mobility.

Through Mobility Works, BRHP provides technical assistance in selected jurisdictions to help set the foundation for successful housing mobility programs.

Careers with BRHP
BRHP seeks a Counselor who supports the organization’s mission of providing quality housing counseling services to qualifying families moving to opportunity areas. BRHP is looking for a Counselor that can effectively manage competing priorities and assist a diverse client population with adjusting to new communities. Primary duties include: conducting home visits, connecting families with resources, conducting landlord/tenant meditations, and assisting families with the move process in accordance with the Program’s administrative policies and procedures.
BRHP seeks a Rental Assistance Supervisor who cares about providing the best service to low-income families and whose duties include determining and documenting applicant or participant eligibility, income, and rent for the BRHP Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program in accordance with the Program’s administrative policies and procedures. Conducting all job functions according to BRHP’s Administrative Plan, U.S. Housing and Urban Development regulations and other state and local requirements, the position requires a wide range of responsibilities related to program compliance, managing leasing services, supervising the recertifications and interim processing, and the management of work flow for the HCV Department.
BRHP seeks a Rental Assistance Associate who cares about providing the best service to low-income families and whose duties include determining and documenting applicant or participant eligibility, income, and rent for the BRHP Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program in accordance with the Program’s administrative policies and procedures. Conducting all job functions according to BRHP’s  Administrative Plan , US Housing and Urban Development regulations and other state and local requirements, the position requires full accountability for assigned cases including maintaining accurate and complete files, resolving issues, and responsiveness to all inquiries.

About the Baltimore Regional Housing Partnership
The Baltimore Regional Housing Partnership (BRHP) helps families with low incomes, who have historically been excluded from housing in neighborhoods of their choice, access and transition successfully to safe, healthy, and economically vibrant communities. Since becoming the formal administrator of the Baltimore Housing Mobility Program, which couples Housing Choice Voucher administration with counseling supports, BRHP has helped over 5,000 families with young children improve their quality of life as they search for new homes.
