Narrowed complaint against SBOE will go to trial

Attorney General Raúl Labrador asked the court to declare that the State Board of Education violated open meetings law by holding two executive sessions this spring to discuss the University of Phoenix acquisition underway by the University of Idaho.

Health and Welfare Director Dave Jeppesen to retire

Dave Jeppesen will retire at the end of 2023 after five years as head of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare. Gov. Brad Little has selected Department of Insurance director Dean Cameron to serve as interim director. 


“Serving as DHW director has been the greatest honor of my career, and hands down my favorite job,” Jeppesen said in a news release. "The department and its valuable employees work tirelessly to carry out a significant mission – to strengthen the health, safety, and independence of Idahoans. I know I leave the agency in good hands with Dean Cameron, who I consider a mentor and friend.”
