This coffee table has an interesting history:--Salvador Dali introduced the wheat motif to Coco Chanel.--She viewed wheat as a lucky charm and in the 1950's commissioned a French goldsmith to design the wheat sheaf coffee table for her 130 Rue Cambon, Paris pied-a-terre and it is still there today in her perfectly preserved apartment.--Thus one icon gave birth to another!
