Hello!

We are still here and fully operational offering teletherapy sessions by HIPAA compliant video sessions or phone. Children have loved the video sessions and they are excited to show us their rooms, pets, and home art projects! We love meeting with parents and adults who are finding a private time for their session in their cars or sneaking out for a walk to talk to us! Teens love the privacy of the sessions and aren't worried about running into classmates in our waiting rooms!

We are working 7 days a week and welcome new patients!

Stay strong. We are here for you and you are not alone.

P.S. See if you can find the saying that has gotten me through this so far (it is somewhere in this newsletter!)

Tips For Positive Thinking Through the Most Difficult Times
By Emily Brzak, M.A., TLLP

The cycle of negative thinking can be a difficult one to break. When stressful events are happening or we find ourselves feeling down for a multitude of reasons, we tend to fixate on the negative emotion and/or stressor. Click the link below for some guidance in how to make the mental shift between negative emotions and a positive mind-frame.

If you and/or someone you know is experiencing difficult emotions and is having trouble breaking away from negative thoughts, please contact McCaskill Family Services. We have Licensed Psychologists certified to treat anxiety, depression, anger, and grief. We are currently conducting our sessions through secure video conference and/or telephone platforms and look forward to meeting you! You can schedule an appointment by phone at 734-416-9098 or by email at mccaskillfamilyservices.com.

Some Of Our Favorite Positive Quotes

"True positive thinking is not the absence of negative thoughts. It's the ability to feel negative when you have to and still maintain enough hope to keep on going. Life throws us twist and turns that can make us feel bad. You don't have to block negative feelings that simply show you are human. Just make the choice not to let them hold you back. A positive person never allows the reality of the moment to stop them from seeing a better future and climbing as many mountains as it takes to get there." - Don Shapiro

"We can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorns have roses." - Alphonse Karr

"It's a funny thing about life, once you begin to take note of the things you are grateful for, you begin to lose sight of the things that you lack." - Germany Kent

"The sun is a daily reminder that we too can rise again from the darkness, that we too can shine our own light." - S. Ajna

"I can handle tough stuff." -Dr. Pam McCaskill

"We all have an unsuspected reserve of strength inside that emerges when life puts us to the test." - Isabel Allende
