This month's newsletter outlines the revised packing instructions for lithium cells and batteries, IATA training certificate requirements and the use of personal vehicles to transport samples as Materials of Trade.

Revised Packing Instructions for Lithium Cells and Batteries – Effective 03.31.22
Smaller Lithium Battery
A revision to the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Dangerous Goods Regulations (effective 04.01.22) affect the transportation of lithium batteries packed alone (UN3090 & UN3480). The packing instructions for these battery configurations - 965 & 968, respectively - no longer include Section II, which provided an exception from full regulation. Now only packing instructions IA & IB are available for these battery configurations. Read my article regarding the revisions to the packing instructions here.
