Hurrican Harvey makes landfall and continues to push NORTH. Minuteman heads SOUTH.
Hurricane Harvey has pushed north all day long and our team has driven south. One team left our base in McKinney first thing this morning and headed to our staging area in Central, TX. They were tasked with the responsibility of delivering our command trailer and making sure our base was setup and ready.
While one team went south to Central Texas, the other was leaving Central Texas and heading closer to the coast. Driving through the heart of the storm, they experienced torrential rain fall and high winds while seeing devastation and destruction the further south they went.

Our team landed in a small community down near the coast where resources were nearly non-existence and the community had been beaten and battered by Harvey. After some brief introductions with local officials the decision was made for a full deployment.

Tomorrow Swinglift Transport will come to McKinney, pick up our bunkhouse, 20kw generator and a large capacity Aspen Water filtration system and head toward the coast. Once there we will establish a basecamp in the community and begin providing assistance to those impacted by Harvey. It's going to be a long event, but we are in it for the long haul and look forward to serving those in need.
