Lisa Ridout Chainmaille Jewellery

Dear Friends of Indigena,

It is with great pleasure that we welcome back jewellery artist Lisa Ridout to the gallery. Lisa has been designing and creating her unique line of mostly sterling silver chainmaille jewellery for over 30 years.

Drawing on historical patterns, as well as new combinations of her own creation, Lisa blends her love of handmade glass beads, semi-precious stones and Swarovski crystals & pearls into her sterling silver pieces.

In her own words, "The traditional skill of chain making is a delicate and time-consuming craft. The chain is entirely handmade by drawing silver into wire form of varied thicknesses, then turning and weaving rings into delicate patterns."
