AuSM Tuesday at the Capitol
AuSM supporters and other members of Minnesota's autism and disability community are encouraged to attend Tuesday at the Capitol, hosted by AuSM, on Tuesday, April 17 from 9:30-11 a.m. Held during Autism Awareness Month, AuSM's Tuesday at the Capitol will focus on the critical last phase of the legislative session. Learn about the legislation that impacts our community; plan in advance for a visit with your legislators after the meeting (AuSM can help with this!); and build relationships with community members and lawmakers. The 23rd Annual Minnesota Autism Conference is filling quickly
During this event, we will join our voices as a passionate community to inspire learning, hope, and innovation. Here experts, parents, caregivers, educators, paraprofessionals, mental health professionals, service providers, and individuals on the spectrum will have a platform to connect, collaborate, advocate, and educate.

Julia's AuSM Autism Celebration
This year's conference will begin with an exciting family celebration featuring Julia, the newest Sesame Street Muppet, a character who was created to increase awareness and understanding of autism. During Julia's AuSM Autism Celebration, meet Walkaround Julia, visit resource tables, participate in sensory activities,  face painting, balloon creations, and game playing during this age and ability inclusive event.

You're invited to Celebrate the Magic Within during AuSM's 2018 gala
Register today for "Celebrate the Magic Within", the Autism Society of Minnesota's 4th annual fundraising gala to be held April 27 from 6-10 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Minneapolis, Park Place. Join AuSM for an enchanting evening of food, drinks, games, silent and live auctions, and a celebration of those serving as true inspirations to individuals affected by autism spectrum disorder. 

Gala proceeds benefit programs and services for the Minnesota autism community.

Sensory Friendly Sundays at the Walker

Sensory Friendly Sunday is a new, free monthly event for kids, teens, and adults with sensory processing differences or autism and their families, offering the opportunity to make art together, explore the galleries, watch a short film, or just hang out in a different setting. The galleries will be closed to all other visitors, allowing guests to enjoy the museum in a calm environment where accommodations such as quiet spaces, noise-canceling headphones, and fidgets are provided. 

Dates: May 6, June 3, July 8, Aug. 5, Sept. 2, Oct. 7
Time: 8-11 a.m.

Major League Baseball and Minnesota Twins Autism Awareness Day at Target Field June 3
Join AuSM for a fun day at Target Field as Major League Baseball and the Minnesota Twins celebrate Autism Awareness Day on June 3. Those purchasing game tickets through AuSM's unique link will have the opportunity to participate in an on-field parade before watching the Twins take on the Cleveland Indians. Ticket purchase through AuSM's link includes the pre-game parade, a seat at the game, and a $3 donation to the Autism Society of Minnesota. AuSM Social Skills Classes 
for Youth and Young Adults
Led by autism experts, AuSM social skills classes foster confidence and self-esteem while participants learn how to make friends, interact with a group, practice socializing, and have fun - all while educators encourage participants to be themselves.
