Winter Fitness Challenges
Let's face it, as we get older things don't work like they used to. We don't seem as strong as we once were and balance and falling can be a concern. As a way to help, we have put together 3, 4-week fitness challenges, each targeting a different goal. In order for you to receive the participation packet, registration is required a week in advance.

Monthly Lunches w/Curbside Option
One Friday per month, Lunches will now be prepared by Duck Pond Variety (AKA Starlite Catering) and served at Town Hall, We are encouraging dining in, with curbside pickup still an option. Please indicate your choice at the time of registration. Registration and payment are required by 4:00 pm. on the Wednesday before each lunch. Registration can be done with the form included in this newsletter; online windhamrecreation.com or in person at the Parks and Recreation Dept. or call 892-1905.

Holiday Crafts w/ Yummy Treats
Come to Town Hall and join some of the Windham Parks and Recreation staff for an afternoon of Holiday Crafts and treats.
You will need to register for these FREE activities .

Weekly Shopping in North Windham
Our regular scheduled shopping day is Thursday, although factors that could require us to adjust this may include: inclement weather, transportation conflicts with Parks & Recreation programs, or driver availability. We will try, to the best of our ability, to let participants know of any schedule change as far in advance as possible.
- The shopping trip stays concentrated in the North Windham area.
- We are not able to accommodate individual appointments
- You will be required to call in and reserve your spot between Monday—Wednesday of each week.

Connect with your friends—or make some new ones—and join us for lunch at this popular South Portland restaurant.

T’ai Chi Chih Classes
T’ai Chi Chih is not a martial art, but rather healing energy for the Mind, Body, and Soul. T’ai Chi Chih does not require a particular level of physical fitness or coordination. The very old and very young alike can learn it.

· Brings about profound healing – physical, emotional & spiritual

You will receive your “no-need-for-daubers” Bingo card by mail. We will draw 2 daily numbers(M-F) until someone gets BINGO! Once we verify we have a winner, we'll start another game. Please register for this FREE program by Monday, January 25th.

Market Basket / Lunch at Stockhouse Restaurant
We will take a few hours so you can go through what’s been called “the best gourmet grocery store”, offering store-made prepared foods, fresh produce, an expansive deli, prime meat, fresh seafood, store-made baked goods and so much more. Once you finish shopping, our lunch stop will be at the Stockhouse Restaurant in Westbrook.

Maine Mall / Christmas Tree Shop

Once the holiday crowds have left the stores, we’ll head to So. Portland to do some shopping. The Christmas Tree Shops is always a favorite stop., and then we‘ll have lunch at Red Robin.

Senior Day is every Wednesday
- Visit a promotional kiosk to get a FREE virtual entry and cookie voucher. Drawings are hourly from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.
- TEN (10) winners each hour and each winner will spin a wheel for Free Slot Play prizes ranging from $25 to $500!

We want to bring all of our artists together for an ART Contest. For our painters, we will supply you with the canvas, and for an extra cost, your paint. A Paint by number option will be available for those who would like/need help. Once you have completed your creation, you’ll be asked to provide your "Masterpiece" back to us to show off your artwork for the public to enjoy in our “gallery” at Town Hall. Please register by Feb. 22, so we can get the supplies to you. | |

Kittery Outlet Shopping w/ Lunch at Sunrise Grill
We will stop at your favorite shops while we go Outlet Shopping in Kittery. We’ll spend the day shopping and eating.

Walk-in: We are located on the 1st floor of Windham Town Hall.

Voucher Program:
Windham’s General Assistance is here to help.
Windham residents ages 55+ are eligible for funding based on income and need. In order to maximize the number of residents we can assist, partial subsidy vouchers will be awarded for 50% or 75% off the program fee. The fee will be adjusted at the time of registration. In order to be eligible for this ongoing scholarship program, you must complete an application and meet with Windham Social Services to be approved. Application and more information may be found online at windhamrecreation.com, you may pick one up in the Parks & Recreation office, or you may call us at 892-1905 and we will mail one to you.
