As well as current colour droplink stock, we have got some deals on older colour RocketMAX frames, and a few of the Jeht Gen1 Dark Crystal Malt Taiwan made frames are left as well.
We did our annual Year End stock take on Tuesday and found we had quite a few C1 and C2 RocketMAX in Gloss Metal Silver, and one C4 in Stealth. Whilst I've no idea why the C4 is still in stock but not on sale (this is the joy of the stock take), it's quite a mad story why we still have a few Gloss Metal Silver C1 and C2.
Last year we were having trouble getting our courier to collect pallets of frames from Five Land. A local haulage firm rang up randomly and offered to quote for pallets. All seemed good, so we gave them a try, and the pallet disappeared! It had C1 and C2 Gloss Metal Silver RocketMAXs on it.
Hannah - our Dispatch Queen - was appalled and would not let it go. She hounded them for weeks, checked manifests, CCTV, internet sleuthed and finally was convinced that they were in a depot in the boondocks of Lincolnshire. After getting no joy from calling the staff at the depot, Chief Mechanic Will and I jumped in the van and headed out to the address. Hannah was convinced that if they were anywhere they were there.
We arrived at the depot, and it was very large, a long way from anywhere, and very quiet. We nosed around a bit and generally felt pretty nervous. Eventually we found the shed with the company we thought might have them. Knocked on the door and rang the bell. No one came down. The roller shutter was up so we just walked in and started poking around. Our pallets are very obviously ours because the frames are packed in a wood frame with cardboard stapled to them. We spotted what we thought was our pallet when we were accosted by a member of staff asking what was going on. We explained that we were looking for a lost pallet of goods and we were pretty sure it was about 10m from where were standing. We went to have a look, it was definitely ours, and when we showed the guy our signwritten van and the frames, he just said "I wondered where that had come from. It's been here for weeks!". Never once mentioned this when Hannah was calling. Thanks for nothing pal!
Anyway, we recovered the frames, but as quite a few were sold, we had got Five Land to make us more. It took so long to find the originals that the replacements were already built by the time a very relieved Will and I went and had a pub lunch to calm down once the pallet was safely in my van.
So there you go. Things you never expected to have to do for work number 533.
There is £400 off all these frames, but that discount applies if you spec them up as a bike too.
