This week's survey:

(These survey questions are sent in by our readers. Please spend a minute to give your answer to this week's survey as one or possibly more of your industry peers thinks this question is important and wishes to see your point of view as well as others in the industry.)

  • MYOB, is it the best. doubtful.
our accountant uses it and it's probably too hard to change to another one.
i find it slow and lacking much needed features.

  • Quick Books. I also have spread sheets in Excel. By entering inv total and payments in Excel at the same time, it is very easy to find errors.
Acoounting packages are only as good as (1) The set up and (2) you adjusting stock levels etc on each job.
Any package needs information entered and my quick books is fully functional for 1/4 BAS and end of year.

  • For me as a one man business, I use MYOB Business Basics, it doesn't have payroll and fits my business perfectly. The last time I wanted support from MYOB though, they wanted to charge me, so I told them to take a hike and sorted my problem out by myself. It does give me all the reporting functions.

A Sergeant and a General were sitting in the barber's. They were both just getting to the end of their shaves, when the barbers reached for some after-shave  to slap on their faces
The General shouted, "Hey, don't put that smelly stuff on me! My wife will think I've been in a brothel!"
The Sergeant turned to his barber and said, "Go ahead and put it on me. My wife doesn't know what the inside of a brothel smells like."
