Easter Sunday Worship
Sunday, April 4 | Online at 9 AM | In-Person, Outdoors at 9 AM and 11 AM
Rejoice and celebrate the Risen King during Sunday Morning Worship. Bring flowers to place on the wooden cross and watch the cross go from bare to beautiful before our eyes. Activities for children will be provided, and the playground will be available. A kids-sized message will precede the adult sermon at 9 AM. Please register in advance to attend in-person. Register for either in-person gathering in Realm Events or by contacting staff. Stream live at 9 AM or anytime thereafter.

The Cross blooms into new life! Bring a flower on Easter to our add to the cross. We'll watch the cross go from bare to beautiful before our eyes. Any flower will do! If you come to outdoor worship, you can add your flower as soon as you arrive, or wait until a time during the service that feels meaningful to you. And if you're worshipping from home, you are welcome to stop by anytime. The flower cross will also make a wonderful background for Easter photos with family and friends. Please send us your photos. You can send to any staffer via text, email, or Realm messaging.

Land Sale Offer: Friends in Christ, we have an opportunity before us and we need your input

The vestry has received an offer to purchase the 14.5 acres of wooded land which is adjacent to the church. This offer came to us after we discovered the County would not approve a modest-income housing development for seniors and neurodiverse individuals and that the only use the county would consider approving is single-family housing at “market rate" -- like the houses in the surrounding subdivision.

#1) Get Informed
Please review the details of this offer, which are included here and have been mailed to your home.

#2) Share your input
After you have reviewed the details of the offer, please submit your questions and comments. These will be reviewed by the vestry and responses will be compiled and shared with the parish.

#3) Save the Dates
Please make plans to attend two Congregational Meetings. More details about these meetings are in the letter.
  • Sunday, April 11, 1 PM: Meeting #1
  • Sunday, April 18, 1 PM: Meeting #2 (tentative)
Helping hands needed! Volunteer to serve and provide fresh food to those who live in "food deserts"
Volunteers needed | April 13 | 9 AM-12 PM

In the metro Richmond region, unfortunately, there are many people that lack access to fresh food. Are you interested in helping those who live in these "food deserts?" Consider joining our Shalom Farms Volunteer Group to help grow, cultivate and/or harvest fresh vegetables through the ministry of Shalom Farms.

Shalom Farms is a regional food access and community development project. Its mission is to “ensure access to healthy food and the support to live healthy lives" through sustainable food production. Their ministry provides healthy food to thousands of our RVA neighbors and helping hands are needed!

Christ Church has supported this ministry for many years and participants say it is meaningful way to help others -- plus, fresh air and getting your hands-in-the-earth provide a great stress relief! We plan to volunteer at least one day each month at the farm, located in Midlothian.

#1) Join the interest group in Realm Groups for timely updates and communications. #2) Sign up on Realm Events for any day you are able to serve. Please contact Keith Tan, our staff contact for Missions & Outreach, if you have any questions.
Candle Fundraiser helps CCE and brings the Light of Christ to our homes!
Lighting a candle has long been a spiritual practice. We light a candle as a prayer of intention; to banish the darkness; to illuminate our souls. Now you can purchase candles to light in your own home and to give as gifts to others.

Each unscented candle is contained in an 8-oz. glass jar, handcrafted with pride by Heritage candle company in the USA, and bears our personalized label proclaiming: May the Light of Christ Shine Upon You. Proceeds will go toward our general fund, enabling ministries that reach people in our neighborhoods and around the world. Consider purchasing a candle for yourself, as a gift for friends, or to donate to our pastoral care ministries.
