Your recurring donation ~ giving love, giving purpose

This Autumn, we encourage you to become a monthly donor to support our on-going efforts, giving love to children and older youth living in foster care in every season.

Just $20/month provides handmade blankets for 12 children this year, giving purpose to individuals in senior living (memory care/nursing home) communities and adult day care facilities!

The value of a blanket. A foster Mom's story.

Diane and her husband have been foster parents for 11 years. She told us, “God has given us this passion and we are all in!” In addition to providing a home for many boys, they have led support groups for foster parents and classes on how to become a foster parent. Diane’s real estate business gives 4% of their income to help foster kids find a home.

Their boys have received our blankets, and this experienced foster Mom explains how much a simple blanket can mean to a child and to a family.

Thank you for your mission! It is so refreshing as a foster/adopt mom to know that a whole organization exists to bring foster kids comfort and, by doing so, help the foster family.

We've been foster/adopt parents for 11 years. We've had 9 boys live with us: 5 teens, 2 babies and 2 in between. We've now adopted 4 of them! We've had dozens more come for respite.  More

Crocheted with Love

Today we received a crochet blanket donation that touched our hearts, and we would like to share it with all of you! Patricia sent us a beautiful crochet blanket.

Each block is composed of different stitch patterns; the blanket has a gorgeous scalloped edge. She included a card with this message:

Dear Friends,

I made this blanket when my husband became ill. Sadly, he passed and never used it. I know he would want me to donate it to a good cause and yours is wonderful. I hope some "older" child can use it since it is large. I know my husband will watch over this child also. God Bless you all for all you do. Patricia

We are blessed by the generosity and skill of this Blanket Angel.

Thank you Judy! ~Laura, foster Mom

We received this touching note from a foster mom recently and want to share it with you.

I have been a foster parent for over 40 children and have received several of your blankets. In January I received placement of an almost one year old boy. The agency brought one of your blankets made by Judy Smit.

My special little boy will be moving soon to live with his biological family, and his blanket will be going with him. If you know who Judy is, please thank her!

7 Blankets for 7 Canadian Children in Foster Care

Dianne sent us this photo of seven colorful fleece blankets made by the women in her relief society, members of a small branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Canada.

They donated the blankets to Kina Gbezhgmi child and family services on Manitoulin Island in Ontario. We are thrilled that children so far from Ohio will receive comfort and love from local Blanket Angels.

AARP Ohio helped us bring comfort and hope to 40 children in foster care! They told us, “AARP Ohio is delighted to implement the MVOB project for our National Day of Service. Our volunteers and staff are excited about the event and the cause it supports."
