~ ATTENTION FLASHERS ~
Hi everybody. I am working with Seton University that has doners that are interested in opening an academically excellent, tuition free Catholic Private School in Fellsmere. It would be a Pre K to 8th grade school. We would like y'all to take the attached survey so that we can gauge the interest in our area. When you fill the survey out, please put the code 00000.
If you have no school age children, please pass this along to your children, grandchildren and friends and neighbors.
Thank you for your interest. I think this would be a very good addition to our community.

About Koda & Riley: You have to stop in to meet these sweet “bros”. They’ve always been together and are bonded buddies. Koda is more of a “large and in charge” type while Riley is the strong, silent type but both are very friendly. These boys are going to be super happy campers in a calm home with some loving humans to snuggle upon every day. They are older gents and are just hoping to find a nice “retirement home”. Come in to visit with them! Note – Koda is front declawed.

Team Sports Can Improve Kids’ Mental Health, Study Shows
Exercise’s impact on mental health is well-documented, and a new study suggests making fitness a team effort bolsters the benefits for children and teens.
The research, published in the journal PLOS One, found children who participated in team sports were 10% less anxious/depressed and 19% less withdrawn/depressed than those who did not participate in any sports. Conversely, those who only participated in individual sports, such as tennis or wrestling, were 16% more anxious/depressed and 14% more depressed/withdrawn than those who didn’t play any sports.
Researchers also found that kids who played team sports had better social, behavioral, and cognitive outcomes compared to those who didn’t do sports at all or those who only participated in individual sports.

This fireplace decor is wickedly fun and easy to recreate. Turn a pair of witch leg stakes upside down and attach them so that they appear to be stuck, hanging from the chimney. Lean the witch’s broom nearby along with a couple of cream-colored pumpkins at the base.
This Flying School Class of witches might need a bit more practice. Insert lengths of wood dowels in the center of foam pool noodles. Stuff the noodles into the legs of striped tights and stick them—feet up—in your bushes. Add witchy shoes pointed in several directions. A cheeky sign to recruit new students offers a witty finishing touch.
GYMNASTIC REGISTRATION OPENS THIS SATURDAY
COMEDY ZONE & LIVE IN THE LOOP
This man was sitting in a dark restaurant. He said to this lady sitting next to him "Would you like to hear a blonde joke?"
She said "Well, before you tell me, you should know that I'm blonde, 6 foot tall and a professional body builder. The lady next to me is blonde, 6 foot 2 and a professional wrestler. And the lady next to her is blonde, 6 foot 5 and the kickboxing champion of the world. Now, do you still want to tell me?"
He thought about it for a moment and then said "No. Not if I'm going to have to explain it three times."

Youth Sailing Foundation Board Adopts New Strategy
Announces Search for
Executive Director
At the September meeting of the YSF Board, a new three-year strategy and operational plan was unanimously adopted. The new strategy affirms the YSF’s unwavering commitment to empowering our youth to achieve their full potential through the medium of sailing. “Free learn to sail programs for our youth will remain the core pillar of our programing” said Board Chair Bill Krueger
Through the outstanding leadership of long time Executive Director Stu Keiller, YSF is experiencing unprecedented demand for its Youth and Adaptive Sailing programs. In order to meet this demand, the firm is expanding its sailing offerings to Adults and Families. Part of this expansion includes the construction of a 10,000 square foot Community Sailing Center on the south side of the Three Corners development. YSF has already secured a long-term lease for the property from the City of Vero Beach
and raised $3.75 of the $4.5 million needed to build the facility. Paid Adult and Family sailing programs will help fund expansion of free youth sailing programs. To reflect the expansion of the firm’s programing to engage adults and families YSF has updated its name to YSF Community Sailing Vero Beach. YSF will continue to operate as a non-profit open to all in the community.
YSF reaches over 300 children each year, fifty percent of whom are from the underserved community. The youth sailing roster reflects the diversity of our community with 25% minority and 10% special sailors coming from thirty-five schools and academies.
The new strategy also includes a leadership succession plan. Executive Director, Stu Keiller has announced his intention to step down by the end of 2024 and focus on construction of the community sailing center in 2025. With the scale of programing and facility development planned, the Board has formed a search committee and will be conducting a search for a seasoned executive to take the Executive Director role.

The Source Announces a 4th Dignity Bus En Route to Illinois
On the heels of sending off a newly converted 20-bed Dignity Bus to the Woonsocket-based nonprofit Community Care Alliance in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, The Source has now announced a 4th bus going to Fortitude Community Outreach located in Bourbonnais, IL, Kankakee County, just outside of Chicago. The Bus-Building team, headed by Anthony Zorbaugh, Executive Director of The Source, officially “hit the trail” on Tuesday, October 10 with an expected delivery date of Thursday, October 12, training day of Friday, October 13, and a return flight to Orlando on Saturday, October 14. For those interested in tracking their 1,300 mile route to Bourbonnais, visit Dignitybus.org where you will find a landing page that will direct you to the tracker information.
Just over two years ago, Dignity Bus, an original idea created to address the global homeless issue, was created in Vero Beach, FL by The Source, a non-profit Christian Ministry benefiting the needy and the homeless in Indian River County. This “one-of-a- kind” mobile overnight emergency shelter was conceived and designed by Anthony Zorbaugh, the Executive Director of The Source, along with Maureen Archer, former Assistant Executive Director, for those living in an unsecure, uncomfortable location without a roof over their heads. Soon thereafter, the 20-bed shelter led to a second 16-bed shelter, both vehicles housing a total of 36 people seven nights a week for the homeless in Vero Beach.
Along with Zorbaugh, a group of Source members, who were previously homeless, incarcerated and formerly skilled in carpentry and construction, are employed by The Source as the “bus builders” and consider the endeavor a project close to their hearts. The bus conversions include a custom-made interior and exterior, providing 20 secure, climate-controlled, individual sleeping pods with privacy curtains, a USB port, an individual light, a lockable door, a private bathroom facility, under-bus storage, pet pods for companion animals, an onboard overnight security person, and monitored CCTV surveillance. The exterior wrapping of the bus is decided by the organization making the purchase.
Once the word began to spread, requests from around the country ensued inquiring about Dignity Bus information. When the first bus went national in June, Dawn Broers, Executive Director of Fortitude Community Outreach (FCO) and several other members of the organization paid a visit to Vero Beach to view the buses and The Source’s entire operation as a whole. It was during that visit that the organization arranged for the purchase of the 4th bus in the nation for their organization to operate. It is now en route to Illinois and expected to be operational by the end of October.
