With over a 150 registrants for the 2013 Student Leadership Awards - we have been able to pull 10 high quality nominations from the a very strong and competitive group.
Last Wednesday the Jenzabar Foundation honored several recipients of our 2013 Student Leadership Awards in a festive yet moving banquet where representatives from each student group spoke about their experiences in service. The student groups recognized:
Buena Vista University's Alternative Week of Offsite Learning (AWOL) Program;
Claremont University Consortium's Social Enterprise Initiative;
Flagler College's ENACTUS Passport Pretzels (recent winner of the best ENACTUS project in the United States); and
Ursuline College's ARROWS (Academic Readiness Requires Outstanding Work and Support) Mentoring Program.
In addition, we presented a special "Boston Strong" Award to New York College of Podiatric Medicine; NYCOPM students served in the medical tent at the finish line of the Boston Marathon and were among those who stepped up amidst that crisis, and these same students also perform exemplary service work to combat diabetes.
We will be announcing additional Student Leadership Award honorees in June and will be recognizing those groups at events in Boston this Fall.
