Danceimagination I for ages 3-4 years on Mondays from 4:00-4:30 pm.


Danceimagination II for ages 4-5 years on Mondays from 4:30-5:15 pm.


Dance with Me for ages 1.5 & up with a caregiver, on Wednesdays from 9:00-9:30 am.


Danceimagination I/II for ages 3 - 5 years on Wednesdays from 9:30-10:15 am.



Discover Acro Dance for ages 4-6 years on Fridays from 4:00-4:45 pm.


Session dates: April 27 - June 8 (no classes on Memorial Day) 

30-minute class: $85 per session 

45-minute class: $90 per session


Our classes are designed to introduce children to the creative and expressive world of dance! Each program allows children to develop their natural movement ability in a multi-sensory environment. Music, movement, visuals, and props will enhance your dancer’s love of the art form, and the unique conceptual approach to dance education will provide a strong foundation for technical and cognitive growth.

Contemporary Forms with

Emilia Bruno & James Barrett

James Barrett is a queer, Brooklyn-based performer, director, and educator. His dancing is most influenced by his time with director Faye Driscoll and with New Dialect (Nashville, TN), where he performed works by Rosie Herrera, Yin Yue, Banning Bouldin, Idan Sharabi, and Joy Davis. James has choreographed works for Visceral Dance Chicago and New Dialect and has shared his solo work at Centennial Performing Arts Studios (TN), the Barn at Lee (MA), Green Space (NY), and Pageant (NY). Most recent experiences include projects with Lauren Edson, Dolly Sfeir, Ben Green, and Faye Driscoll, with whom he created the critically-acclaimed work, “Weathering,” which is now touring nationally and internationally. He has worked independently and through companies as a rehearsal assistant and teaching artist, instructing at various programs including Jazzgoba Dance Academy (Costa Rica), Perry- Mansfield, Tulane University, and The Juilliard School.


Originally from Lake Zurich, IL, Emilia Bruno (they/them) is an Italian-American, queer movement artist and educator based in College Park, MD. They are a core collaborator with Tristan Koepke/Big Boy Dance, regularly creating, developing, and performing company work since 2023. Additional performance credits include Kendra Portier/BANDportier, Shapiro & Smith Dance, Zenon Dance Company, Slo Dance Company, Brit Falcon/Falcon Dance, and MK Ford. In addition to their work at BDF and as a performance artist, Emilia works as an arts administrator for Mariclare Hulbert Consulting, supporting the communication, marketing, and public relations efforts of renowned dance artists and organizations, including Dance/USA and NCCAkron. Their dance scholarship has been presented at the 2025 Pop Culture Association Conference and the University of Florida in Gainesville.

Emilia’s work with the Young Dancers Intensive began in 2018, working as an intern for the Mentorship Team. They then served as the Director of Mentorship for the program from 2023-2025 before being named Associate Director in 2025. Education and mentorship for aspiring youth artists is a core value of their continued work and desired impact on the dance field at large. Emilia has held teaching positions of various capacities at a multitude of institutions and organizations, including the University of Florida, the University of Maryland, College Park, the American College Dance Association, and Bates College. Emilia received their BFA in Dance and BS in Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities and is a current MFA candidate in Dance at the University of Maryland, College Park.



Theater Jazz with Christina Belinsky

Christina is a dancer, choreographer, film-maker, producer, and dance educator based in the Western Mountains of Maine. She is a graduate of Dean College with an A.A. in Dance and the Trustees Prize in Dance and the University of the Arts with a B.F.A. in Modern Dance Performance and the award for Most Outstanding Performance in Modern Dance. Her career spans many genres of dance from ballet to musical theater, concert dance to television and film. Professional regional theater credits include Irving Berlin's White Christmas, Mary Poppins, A Christmas Carol, Footloose, The Producers, Sweet Charity, Seussical: The Musical, Charlotte’s Web, and the NYC industry reading of "Woody: A New Fairytale". Christina has performed all over the US, Canada, Spain, Brazil, Russia, Israel, and Tokyo’s TheatreOrb with the International tour of The Aluminum Show (’10-’13 Dance Captain/Swing, ’25 Tour Producer), the National tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Dance Captain/Swing) directed and choreographed by Tony-Award-winner Andy Blankenbuehler, and the 1st Broadway National Tour of Finding Neverland (Ensemble/ Peter Pan cover) directed by Diane Paulus with choreography by Mia Michaels. TV and film credits include HBO's The Gilded Age, Seasons 1-3, Westworld, Dance Moms, MTV, HGTV, and various commercials. She has worked with industry leaders such as Karla Puno Garcia, Nancy Braun, Stephanie Klemmons, Joey Pizzi, and John Carrafa.  

Beginner/Intermediate Ballet with Cristian Laverde König

Cristian Laverde Koenig holds a Bachelor's Degree in Classical Ballet and began his professional career under the legendary Alicia Alonso, performing a vast repertoire on national and international tours. He went on to dance as a soloist with Hartford Ballet and Ballet Internationale, working with renowned ballet masters such as Josefina Mendez, Alla Osipenko, Flemming Flindt, and Irina Kolpakova. He then joined Maximum Dance Company and later Milwaukee Ballet as a principal dancer, expanding his repertoire with works by Ivonice Satie, Jean-Christophe Blavier, Lila York, and Christopher Gable among others.


As a freelance artist, Laverde Koenig has performed worldwide, collaborating with companies such as Dominic Walsh Dance Theater, Oakland Ballet, and the National Ballet of Slovakia, as well as participating in the inception of dance projects such as Infinite Movement Ever Evolving (iMEE). His repertoire spans classical and contemporary works, ranging from Petipa’s classics to the likes of Balanchine, Tudor, Tharp, Duato, and Graham, as well as world premieres by Maurice Causey and Karole Armitage. In addition to performing, he has taken on leadership roles, serving as Rehearsal Director for Armitage Gone! Dance and Tabula Rasa Dance Theater, contributing to the development of new productions.


A dedicated mentor and teacher, Laverde Koenig is a sought-after master instructor, leading company classes for Gibney Company and New York Theatre Ballet. Additionally, he teaches open classes at popular dance studios in New York City, including Steps on Broadway, Peridance, and Broadway Dance Center, and enjoys sharing his expertise with the next generation of dancers.

Ballet Bloom Project is hosting a ballet intensive at Casco Bay Movers Dance Studio over April Break — offering quality instruction for dancers of all levels, from beginners to professionals, featuring master teacher and former principal dancer Cristian Laverde Koenig and BLOOM Artistic Director Rose Hutchins.


Intermediate Ballet (ages 9–14)

No children or teen classes will be held during the April School Break, which runs from Monday, April 20, through Saturday, April 25. All adult drop-in and repertory classes will run as scheduled.
