STATE ANNOUNCES GUIDELINES FOR

RE-OPENING THEATERS

The California Department of Health has stated that live INDOOR performing arts venues cannot re-open until a county completely cycles out of the color-coded tiers.

Beginning April 1, OUTDOOR live performances are permitted to take place once a county reaches the Orange Tier, with attendance limited to 20% of capacity.

"The arts community is committed to the safety and health of its audiences, artists and staff," commented ArtsOC President & CEO Rick Stein. "But we are not satisfied that the State Department of Health has given ample consideration to the information it has received from our sector, which documents clearly the ways that venues have re-opened safely in other locales. Therefore, we are continuing to advocate that new guidelines be issued in a timely manner. We deeply appreciate the efforts of Assemblymember Sharon Quirk-Silva of Fullerton, who is helping to focus attention on this issue through the Assembly's Arts, Entertainment, Sports, Tourism and Internet Media Committee, which she chairs."
