Theft Prevention Tips

Dear Members,

In a recent communication with the Montgomery County Auto Crimes Task Force, the officers provided some helpful tips surrounding recent auto theft trends and some preventative steps you can take to harden your dealership as a target. 

Dodge TRX, Dodge Charger Hellcat, Jeep Trail Hawk, or any vehicles that are $75k or above have been most frequently targeted. Some Infiniti Q60s have been targeted as well, but not at the frequency as the aforementioned Stellantis products. Even without keys, thieves can be in and out of the dealership in 10 minutes or less. The task force recommends the following steps as a base line level of prevention:

1. Park any highly targeted vehicles with non-Stellantis vehicles. 
2. Utilize gates if you have them and park vehicles to block entrances and exits.  
3. Ensure you know how to activate U-Connect if theft does occur - 1-855-792-4241. The sooner this is done the better, as thieves have been disabling the system at their final destination.

Hopefully these tips can help us all reduce the number of theft attempts in our area.
