'Abortion Until Birth Act' Fails
Greetings!

On Monday, the U.S. Senate stopped the latest attempt by President Biden and the pro-abortion leadership in Congress to pass their Abortion Without Limits Act, or what they like to call the "Women's Health Protection Act." The bill needed 60 votes to proceed, and it could not even muster 50 votes, failing in a 48-46 vote. Thank you to Senators Cassidy and Kennedy for voting against the bill! Send a quick email to them thanking them for voting pro-life!

If that bill had passed, here's just a few of the terrible things it would do:

  • Codify abortion-on-demand in federal law for all 50 states, regardless what the Supreme Court says.
  • Destroy every pro-life law in Louisiana.
  • Eliminate rules requiring parental consent for a minor's abortion.
  • Require national taxpayer funding of abortion.

While we are relieved the vote failed, pro-abortion forces are not done. As Biden indicated in his State of the Union last night, they will do whatever it takes to "preserve" abortion.

Every American needs to know the truth about this bill and the lengths President Biden and those in Congress will go to enshrine abortion-on-demand.

For a Pro-Life Louisiana,
Benjamin Clapper

During President Biden's first State of the Union address last night, he stated, "The constitutional right affirmed by Roe v. Wade… is under attack as never before, if you want to go forward and not backwards, we must protect access to healthcare, preserve a woman’s right to choose, and continue to advance maternal healthcare for all Americans."
Our eighth Bowties for Babies: A Southern Soirée Benefiting Life is set for Tuesday, April 26, at the Capitol Park Museum in Baton Rouge. We're so excited to get back to celebrating life with you in Baton Rouge after nearly two years of Covid-19 shutdowns and restrictions! Will you join us as a patron? Individual tickets are also available now.
On Monday, Senate Democrats failed to invoke cloture on the so-called Women’s Health Protection Act that would have enshrined abortion in federal law. The motion failed by a vote of 46-48. No Republicans supported the bill, and they were joined by only one Democrat, Sen. Joe Manchin (W.Va.).
Oratory contests for juniors and seniors in high school are planned this spring in various areas around the state. Winners in local contests will compete in the state oratory contest on April 30 during the Louisiana Knights of Columbus Convention in Alexandria. The state winner will advance to the national competition.
Our friends Danny Abramowicz, Don Sampey, Kenny Martinez and Karl Credeur represented the Monday Night Disciples at EWTN recently and were joined Jim and Joy Pinto on their TV show. The Monday Night Disciples were featured on one show, and the next day the topic was the group's "All God's Babies" ministry. The shows were recorded and are available to view.
Applications are now being accepted for the 2021-22 St. Tammany Right to Life Pro-Life Youth Leadership Award. The deadline to submit the application form is April 15. The Texas Heartbeat Bill remains in effect, and we are teaming with donors and volunteers to place billboards like this on important stretches of interstate as women from Texas travel to Louisiana seeking abortion. Will you help us keep the boards up in the Shreveport area and on I-10 near Lake Charles, Lafayette, and Baton Rouge?
