GSE Engineering and Consulting, Inc. is currently performing a geotechnical exploration of the Thelma Boltin Center so that structural engineers can design appropriately sized footings based on the existing soil conditions. That report is due in mid-February.

Wannemacher Jensen Architects and their engineering sub-consultants will submit 30% drawings by mid-March and 90% drawings by mid-April for staff review. This Phase 1 work will include structural repairs, roof replacement and stormwater mitigation. City staff expect to have the complete set of construction documents in early May to apply for building permits and solicit contractor bids. Barring unforeseen delays, a timeline for Phase 1 of the construction will be developed in May and the construction is expected to start in July.

Design of Phase 2 improvements, including repairs to the interior finishes, equipment, and mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, will take place after the Phase 1 structural work is completed. The building will reopen to the public after the Phase 2 improvements are complete.
