September 2022 Newsletter

Fall is in the air and that means a new season of Therapeutic Recreation programming is about to begin!


Please note that programs are subject to change pending the status of the COVID-19 pandemic. Look for updates by email or on each program's online listing. Participants and support staff should stay home if they are experiencing any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 or any other illness or have been exposed to someone who has had signs or symptoms of COVID-19. Please see CDC guidelines for specific COVID-19 symptoms.

Centennial Park Accessibility Improvements

Howard County Executive Calvin Ball, Councilmember Liz Walsh, and Department of Recreation & Parks Director A. Raul Delerme announced the completion of renovations at Centennial Park South that widened pathways, added a new accessible parking lot and pathway improvements, and completed other improvements that enhance public safety.

All In Adventure Club

The Therapeutic Recreation and Outdoor Adventures teams are joining forces to bring you a once-a-week adventure experience! Activities include fishing, archery, campfire night, and rock climbing!

Adaptive Archery

Sep 13 | 3-4:30pm | Tu, Th | $67 | 2 classes


Come discover the basics of target archery with one of our Adventure and Outdoor USA Archery-certified instructors! You will learn the technique and form of archery while using our adaptive Bullseye Bows.

Walking Crew

Sep 15 | 1-2pm | Th | $27 | 4 classes


Meet up with peers for a weekly stroll around Blandair Regional Park's walking paths. Exercise, socialize, and enjoy the great outdoors.

Teen Clubhouse

Sep 20 | 3-5:30pm | Tu, Th | $95 | 7 classes


During this twice-a-week program, teens can expect to participate in different active games or sports, with opportunities for social time.
