Dear Therapy Smarts Friends,

Fall is officially here, and with it comes crisp mornings, colorful leaves, and a season full of exciting transitions. As we head toward the end of the year, it’s a wonderful time to reflect, reset, and enjoy the many community events and fun weekend activities this season brings.

At Therapy Smarts, we’re looking forward to closing out the year strong while continuing to support our families and community with care and compassion. Each month, our newsletter is designed to keep you connected—with updates, helpful resources, team highlights, and ways to engage with us.

I encourage you to make time to explore each edition—you never know what new idea, spotlight, or resource might benefit you or someone you love.

Wishing you a season filled with warmth, joy, and connection.

With gratitude,

Avani Shah, CEO and Founder

Halloween: Tips for a Fun and Comfortable Celebration

Halloween is a time filled with the excitement of costumes, candy, decorations, and imagination! For some children, this celebration can sometimes bring sensory overload, unexpected social interactions, and unpredictable changes in routine.

Avani Shah, M.Ed; CCC-SLP, Therapy Smarts CEO and Dr. Shaina Holman, S.S. S, PH. D with Avani's continuing education certificate from the training at our Durham office.

Local Partnerships, Lasting Impact

Big thanks to our partner, Dr. Holman from Holman Family Dental Care of Chapel Hill, for sharing clinical insights with our team on tongue ties and how they can impact speech, sleep, feeding, and even behavior. Our therapists received a continuing education certificate for their clinical training session with Dr. Holman last month.

We love learning alongside experts in our community to better support the children and families we serve!
