Essential Caribbean opened its doors on July 1, 2011, Owned by its founder, Douglas David Alexander. Mr. Alexander who functions as the General Manager and Executive Chef, has a clear vision of what to offer his customers. With over 25 years of business management in the Food & Beverage Hospitality Industry, stemming back to Antigua & Barbuda. Mr. Alexander has a lifetime passion for the restaurant experience. He also currently owns First Impressions Events Catering Ltd ( www.firstimpressions-catering.co.uk ). Mr. Alexander's experience includes management leadership positions with InterContinental Hotels Group; Compass Group UK & Ireland and DO & CO International Events Catering UK.

WHAT IS CARIBBEAN CUISINE?
Crystalline waters, azure skies, verdant landscapes and colourful people. This is what comes to most minds when thinking of the Caribbean - and they are not wrong. However, there is so much more variety to this group of thousands of islands than one might imagine, and this is evident not least in their food. From the Bahamas in the north, across the Greater Antilies (including Cuba and Jamaica) to the Lesser Antilies in the sought, Caribbean cuisine is an eclectic fusion of African, Amerindian, Creole, French, Indian, and Spanish cooking, brought to the region by the many peoples that have settled there.
