Habitat On The Hill 2025: The Power Of Advocacy
Just last week, Habitat Clallam’s CEO, Colleen Robinson, along with board members Mark Hodgson and Norm Pederson joined Habitat for Humanity's annual legislative conference, Habitat on the Hill (HOTH).
Advocates from across the country gather in Washington, D.C. for a powerful three-day event to engage directly with members of Congress. The goals are to raise awareness and advocate for policies that address the nation’s affordable housing crisis.
As part of the Habitat family, Habitat Clallam is committed to being a voice for those in need of a decent, affordable place to live. In addition, HOTH provides critical tools and training to help participants effectively champion housing solutions that will transform lives and communities.
The annual conference emphasizes the importance of collaboration—working together as a community of advocates, lawmakers, and housing experts—to create lasting change. It’s not just about supporting affordable housing solutions; it’s about advocating for policies that foster resilient communities where families thrive. The conversations held during HOTH help shape the future of housing across the United States, ensuring that affordable homeownership is available to those who need it most.
As Habitat Clallam takes part in this essential advocacy, we are reminded of the profound impact stable, affordable housing has on families and communities. It’s not just a roof over their heads—it’s the foundation for children’s success in school, health, and economic opportunities.
Together, we can continue to advocate for policies that build stronger communities and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to thrive in a place they can truly call home.
"Advocacy is one of the most important tools in Habitat's toolbox to help us realize our mission: A world where everyone deserves a decent place to live. I am inspired to be in our nation's Capital surrounded by my Habitat colleagues as we work to make affordable homeownership available to all." –CEO, Colleen Robinson
