Anniversary Toast by Gene McWhorter

Let's raise our glasses in celebration.

To 50 years as a congregation.

Three campfires glowing in recognition.

We join as one in daily mission.

Justice, inclusion, and spirituality.

Working together for this reality.

Unique, affirming, comprehensive, and intentional,

Shadow Rock is radically multi-dimensional.

Individually, corporately, we balance Word and Deed.

I'd share all the rest but I know you all read.

No matter where you are on life's grand journey,

You are welcome here. Just ask Bert and Ernie.

Now if you please and are comfortably able...

Stand if you are happy, stand if you are sad,

Here's to 50 more years, I hope you are glad!

SHADOW ROCK, ROCKS!

Shadow Rock UCC’s Golden Celebration Art Show Opening & Sale

Shadow Rock United Church of Christ has from the very beginning affirmed the goodness of life and celebrated the creative human spirit. Art, beauty, and a comprehensive view of life is a crucial part of who we are. In this spirit, we move toward closure of our celebration of our 50th Anniversary with the Golden Celebration of Community Art Show & Sale. This art show will feature artists from the Southwest, and many of whom share a connection with Shadow Rock UCC and the Moon Valley area.

This is a great opportunity to share some of the best of who we are with the community we are called to love and serve. The Art Show Team recommends that all of us invite four people to this event. In addition to the grand opening on Nov. 18th, 3-6 pm, we will have the additional days and times for viewing on Nov. 19th, Nov. 26th and Dec. 3, 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM. Bring a friend, go to lunch, appreciate art, and be in good company.

There is nothing more truly artistic than to love people. ~ Vincent Van Gogh

No matter who you are or where you are on life's journey,

you are welcome here!

This Sunday at Shadow Rock

  • Childcare is in the Blue Room, 9-11:30 am.
  • Spiritual Formation for Children is in the Red Room, 9-10 am.

10:15 am

Worship in the Sanctuary. Come, celebrate, and share bread and cup. This is World Communion Sunday!

11:15 am

Sermon Reboot will happen this Sunday, 10/1.

4:00 pm

Love Seed is Beer Church at North Mountain Brewery at 4 PM. It is a time of food, fellowship, and discussion. This Sunday we discuss Affirmation 9 of the Phoenix Affirmations: Basing our lives on the faith that, in Christ, all things are made new, and that we, and all people, are loved beyond our wildest imagination – for eternity.

OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE, VOLUNTEER, AND FIND YOUR JOY WITH OUR SAFETY, SOUND, AND TECH TEAMS!!

Safety Team Looking for Team Members

The Safety Team is in dire need of "extra hands on deck" during services including weddings and funerals. Our team's main operations are to keep everyone safe using "eyes and ears" and to assist in medical emergencies. You can still be a member of the congregation during these events, though we might need your extra help in an emergency! We do provide first aid classes for our team each year. Please talk/email Bill Peterson with questions or to say you want to help us out.

Shadow Rock Offers Hybrid Worship Experience

We can be together on Sunday morning in three ways. Join us in person. Join us by way of Zoom so you can share with us your thoughts, prayers, and celebrations. This is a way to be online and interactive. Contact us so we can send you the Hybrid Worship Service and Zoom link as an email. Join us by way of YouTube by going to the Shadow Rock UCC YouTube channel. Share with your friends and family.

Here is an example of a Sunday service with a baptism.

We love the great things that have happened for people with our online presence. If you want to help us by volunteering to be a Zoom Host or Stream Master, please contact Pastor Ken at [email protected].
