Every once in a while a knitting design comes along that I just have to knit. Bearly Bonnet is one of those.
Here's why I like this sweet baby hat.
It's a FREE download. Yep, us yarn lovers are suckers for free patterns. I especially like the ones that are somewhat of a challenge. This one is written in metric, so I had to convert it to inches. Use Google or Siri or Alexa for conversions from metric to non-metric. "Hey Siri, how many inches is 4 centimeters?" For help with needle sizes, check out any of the needles on our website. NOTE: I knit this hat on a 2.75 mm needle. That's a US #1 1/2 size needle.
Bearly Bonnet knits up soft in HiKoo Sueno, a blend of merino superwash wool and bamboo that's wearable and durable. As usual, I suggest hand washing little knits like this hat.
Garter stitch. I love garter stitch for its squishiness. It has a practical and sensible look to it, too. That's personal preference, I know, but it is such a favorite for many knitters.
I like to riff when I knit and those ties that you see in the photo are my riff on using I-cord for ties. Check out what other knitters have done for ties on Ravelry. There are a lot of good ideas there.
Our Coupon Code 25BY25 lands a 25% discount in your shopping cart when your purchase is $25 or more. Use it to as you shop the goodies at Graywood Designs!
Happy Knitting and Crocheting! And happy spring!
PS The sample Bearly Bonnet shown in the top photo is knit with Color 1193 -- "Buttercream." Buttercream is a soft, warm neutral yellow, a hard color to find.
