College Planning

Seattle Promise College Alternative

Seattle Promise deadlines are approaching. There are 3 steps to applying:

  1. Submit a Seattle Promise Application
  2. Apply to the Seattle College of your choice (North, Central, or South)
  3. Complete the FAFSA

Even if your are applying to a 4 year university, it is recommended to also apply for the Seattle Promise as a backup plan. For questions regarding Seattle Promise please contact May Saetern at may.saetern@seattlecolleges.edu or mnsaetern@seattleschools.org.

The deadline for Step 1 is Feb 17. To meet this deadline and become eligible for the scholarship program, you must complete both:

  1. Seattle Promise application (5-10 minutes), and
  2. Seattle Colleges application (15-20 minutes) for North Seattle College, Seattle Central College, or South Seattle College

Not sure which one to apply to yet? Seattle Colleges offers over 130 programs in 8 areas of study (learn more). Take a look to find out which program and college best fits your interests! If you’re still unsure, you can apply to all three and decide during spring, when we have our registration events.

Questions? Email TCS's Seattle Promise outreach specialist, May Saetern at may.saetern@seattlecolleges.edu or mnsaetern@seattleschools.org. Call or text at 206-661-5207.

Ages 13–19 @ Seattle Rep (155 Mercer St)

Sun, Feb 12 1–6 pm

Performance: Sun, Feb 12 at 7:30 pm

Come join Penguin Productions and Seattle Rep for a weekend of workshopping youth-written plays! This FREE retreat unites teen writers with youth actors and adult support staff. Build community with other young artists, get new scripts on their feet, and/or perform, all with only a weekend's commitment! Writers can submit a draft of a short play or an excerpt from a full-length play in any stage of development. If you're interested in writing and/or performing, click here for more information!

"How far would you go to protect what you believe?"

When Antigone makes a fateful decision about her body, her uncle makes an equally fateful decision to uphold the law of the land rather than protect her. This utterly contemporary script reimagines the classic Greek tragedy to explore the fallout to families when bodies and the body politic collide. With sly humor and primal power, Antigones invites everybody to connect with empathy across physical and moral distance.

The Young Core Company is an ensemble of diverse young people eager to develop craft, connect to others, and push beyond our goals as artists and humans.

YCC is your place to make amazing theatre in creative community!

Share Your Time and Talents with Treehouse (Volunteer Opportunity)

Volunteers are a critical part of how Treehouse supports youth in foster care. We welcome groups, individuals and families to join us.

Treehouse’s commitment to diversity and equity is central to our work with youth in foster care, and our volunteers are our partners in this work. Treehouse serves youth and caregivers of many races and ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities, abilities and religious beliefs. We seek volunteers who reflect that diversity. We know that everyone is at a different place in their learning about dismantling racism and other forms of oppression, but our expectation is that Treehouse volunteers bring a personal commitment to continued learning and action on these fronts.
