To all in our Tuesday's Children community,

While we always knew 2021 would be an extraordinary year for Tuesday's Children, what we didn't know is that it would be the year we emerge from a global pandemic. Throughout challenging times, we successfully pivoted to virtual programming, and are proud to continue this new way of connecting with families across the country while we–slowly and safely–bring back in-person programming. Please visit our website calendar for more information.

In addition to in-person sporting events and workshops, we're thrilled to be able to gather this September for our Celebrating 20 Years of Service Gala. This monumental event, to be held both virtually (free!) and in-person, is a chance to reflect on two decades of service to more than 42,000 individuals. CLICK HERE to view tickets and sponsorship options.

While the mission of Tuesday's Children has evolved, there is one thing that will always ring true: our families remain at the core of our work. We look forward to continuing this journey with you throughout our 20th anniversary year, and many years to come.

With much gratitude for your continued support,
Terry
Upcoming Programs
In-person programming was on the horizon a few months ago, and we're thrilled to say it's finally here! Families felt a small dose of normalcy at a hockey game in May – learn more about that in the Recent Programs section – and are excited to take on SeaWorld San Antonio this summer.

Ready to see our smiling faces in person but missed out on these opportunities? Stay tuned to your email and our social media (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/LinkedIn) for more events coming soon. As state restrictions slowly loosen, we expect lots of sporting events, amusement park outings and more to come up and we'd love for you to join us.

If you don't live near where our family engagement events are held – or just aren't ready to gather yet – there's no need to worry. We will continue with virtual programming so that you can connect with fellow Tuesday's Children families across the country. Keep an eye on our website calendar, which is updated regularly, to see what's available to you.

Whether it's through a screen, on a roller coaster, at the ballpark or just over the phone, we look forward to continuing our connection with you, and to providing a lifetime of healing for your family.

Mentoring Match Spotlight: Daniel and Mark
Daniel, a Gold Star child, loves sports, video games and science class. He recently relocated from Florida to Texas with his sister Delayne, and mom, Lez, an Army Veteran. While the love he feels at home is wonderful, he's been asking for a male support system to relate to. In comes Mark...

A Tuesday's Children Junior Board Member and longtime supporter of our work, Mark is a Manhasset native who enjoys playing golf and watching sports. This is something they quickly bonded over, as Daniel is a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and Mark loves the New York Jets. In addition to sports, they share a favorite superhero, Batman.
"Daniel loves meeting with Mark. They play and talk about the craziest stuff, typical guy stuff. We are so grateful to be part of this amazing organization and the mentorship program."
- Lez, Daniel's Mom
As their match meeting continued, it was heartwarming to see Daniel open up to Mark. The pair looks forward to connecting weekly via FaceTime and all of us at Tuesday's Children look forward to watching their friendship grow.

Tuesday's Children Welcomes New Board Members: Ethan Griffin & Jeffrey Fairbanks III
Ethan Griffin

Tuesday's Children is honored to welcome Ethan Griffin to our Board of Directors. Griffin, the Vice President of Strategy and Public Sector at Vennli, Inc., is a retired Colonel of the U.S. Air Force with over twenty years of experience in organizational management, aerospace leadership and global operations.

"My U.S. Air Force Career spanned the 9/11 tragedy and years of flying combat support missions, where I saw patriotism by military personnel daily. Later, as the installation commander at Dover AFB, DE, I was honored to support the dignified return of our fallen and care for their surviving families. Tuesday's Children offers an opportunity to continue serving our heroes' families and the victims of global terrorism," said Ethan Griffin.

Junior Board Member Spotlight: Gabriele and Hadley
When Gabriele lost her dad on 9/11 nearly twenty years ago, Tuesday's Children was there for her. When Tuesday's Children was looking to fill out our Junior Board with passionate young professionals, Gabriele was there for us...and so was Hadley, her friend and colleague.

Although the two discovered Tuesday's Children at different times in their lives – Gabriele having participated in various career workshops and family engagement programs throughout her youth and Hadley introduced to us via her job at Tradeweb – they now share a common goal of helping the organization succeed.

They've hosted children at our annual Take Our Children to Work Day at Tradeweb, contributed to the success of our Rise Up and Remember: Memorial Day 5K and have attended many Junior Board events and meetings. Through all of their efforts, they've not only made a difference in the lives of the families we serve, but found a lifelong friendship.

Gabriele and Hadley embody the Tuesday's Children values of strength in community and connection, and we're thrilled to have them on our Junior Board. Many things in the future may be uncertain, but what we know for sure is Tuesday's Children will remain and – so long as we have people like Gabriele and Hadley on our side – there's only good to come.

Are you interested in joining our Junior Board? CLICK HERE to learn more.

Young professionals – including family members in the Tuesday's Children community and even their friends who aren't enrolled with us – are eligible.

Recent Programs and Family Engagement Events
At Military Appreciation Night with the NY Islanders, families (safely!) gathered at Nassau Coliseum to watch their hometown team compete. Engagement events are always special, as it's a chance to bond and connect, but this one was especially so. For some, it was the first time in over a year they attended a large-scale event. For all, it was a return to a feeling we've all been lacking – normalcy.

While we're excited for what the rest of 2021 has in store, we pause to reflect on an exciting start to the year and all the virtual programs we've been able to provide.
At our Be-Lov-Ed Wellness Series, participants discovered the importance of self-love. Through our Ready, Set, Go! Internship Workshop, young adults received advice from career experts who geared them up to secure the internship of their dreams. Thanks to our supporters at Premier Lacrosse League, families had the chance to engage in a Q&A with professional athletes. For those interested in a different path, there was our Navigating the Military Academy Application Process Workshop, made possible by the U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Naval Academy, and U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

As COVID-19 restrictions loosen and the weather gets warmer, we look forward to bringing you plenty of in-person events while still continuing with our virtual efforts.

Stay tuned to our website calendar and socials (Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/LinkedIn) for updates on upcoming programs.
Please support our work.
