There's Something Affordable In the Air

Building your own airplane will undoubtedly be one of the most memorable and worthwhile projects you will ever undertake, and Zenith Aircraft Company continues to make it easier than ever for you to get started!

Now more than ever before, we invite you to compare the value and quality of Zenith Aircraft kits to the competition for completeness, pre-manufactured parts and components, standard equipment, low build time, simplicity of construction and required skills and tools, as well as price (cost of the the kit, as well as cost to finish your aircraft with your choice of engine and avionics). We strive to keep our prices as affordable as possible, while also improving production technology with the extensive use of proven CNC high-speed routers in kit production. This allows for a higher level of parts completion (making the kits easier and quicker to build!), significantly improved delivery schedules (with some component kits shipping within just a few weeks from order date), and also keeps production and support here in the United States. All this (and of course great aircraft designs) is what continues to make Zenith Aircraft the Number One brand* of light sport aircraft, year after year.

Did you know that you can build your very own Zenith from plans-only (blueprints), buy-as-you-build component kits, or from the complete kit?

PLANS (blueprints)

Complete plans and assembly manuals guide the builder through the entire building process. They are detailed enough that they can even be used to scratch-build the entire aircraft, if you should so desire. The blueprints illustrate the parts and assemblies and provide detailed information about every single component that makes up the kit. Each set of plans comes with an aircraft serial number.

COMPLETE KIT

The most popular way to build a Zenith airplane is with the complete airframe kit, which provides the builder with all the components needed to assemble an airplane. Easily picked up at the factory or crated and shipped, Zenith kits provide everything needed to complete the airframe, typically in under 500 hours.

Engine, instruments, paint and upholstery are not included, although available separately.

COMPONENT KITS

As an alternative to ordering the complete airframe kit all at once, you can "buy-as-you-build" component kits for sections of the aircraft, one at a time. This modular method of building reduces the upfront cost and commitment tied to full kits and increases the flexibility of the project. Any individual part or component is also available for purchase. The above illustration shows a wing kit.

Whichever way you choose to start building, you'll gain full access to lifetime technical support directly from the factory, and you'll end up with a wonderful airplane that you've built yourself! Each completed Zenith aircraft is a one-of-a-kind creation. What you can do with a Zenith design is (almost) limited only by your imagination. They are versatile enough to accommodate a wide range of options and configurations, from skis and tail wheels to folding wings and floats.

Get a head start in building your own airplane in 2024 by participating at an upcoming hands-on workshop class at the kit aircraft manufacturing factory in Mexico, Missouri, and learn all about the skills and tools needed to build your own.

The workshop experience at the Zenith factory also includes a factory tour and demo flight, with participants "graduating" from the workshop upon completing construction of their own aircraft rudder tail section for one of Zenith Aircraft Company's popular kit aircraft designs, including the high-wing Zenith CH 750 series or the sleek low-wing Zenith CH 650 cruiser. Plan now to join us at an upcoming factory workshop (see below for details on the Texas workshop):

The Zenith hands-on workshop is an excellent way to learn about building your own kit aircraft and about the many advantages of owning and flying an airplane that you’ve built yourself. For many, building an aircraft (from a kit) is a very rewarding experience, and today’s modern kits make it easier and quicker to build than ever before.

Standard workshop fees are just $375.00 (or $425 for the CH 750 Super Duty model) and include the complete rudder kit for a Zenith aircraft. Additional helpers (spouse or other family members) are encouraged to attend and can participate for free. Prior registration is required for the rudder workshop class and class size is limited.

Next month Zenith Aircraft Company will also be returning to Texas to host its popular hands-on kit aircraft building workshop class, combined with a regional Zenith fly-in and informal builder gathering. The two-day workshop will be held February 23rd & 24th inside a spacious private hangar at Boerne Stage Airfield (5C1) just north of San Antonio. Zenith Aircraft's Sebastien Heintz and Roger Dubbert plan to attend the Texas workshop, and all Zenith builders, pilots, and enthusiasts are invited to attend and participate at an informal Saturday Zenith fly-in gathering at Boerne Stage Airfield. All Zeniths are invited to fly in for the day’s activities, and Zenith enthusiasts and current builders are invited to drive in or fly in to attend. Check out the Facebook event page for updates, and share it with your friends.

The Texas workshop class will start on Friday morning, February 23rd. This hands-on workshop is aimed primarily at the first-time airplane builder. Each workshop participant builds and assembles their own Zenith aircraft rudder tail section from a standard Zenith kit, usually completed at the end of the first day (or the following morning).

Zenith Kit Aircraft Deliveries: Texas Road Trip

Zenith will be traveling to SW Texas in the Zenith cargo van for the Texas workshop event and can arrange to deliver kits to customers along the way as it travels to Texas from the kit factory in central Missouri. Let us know if we can deliver a kit or component kit to you on the way to Texas! (Space is limited. Call us for details.) Check out this video from last year's Texas road trip with kit deliveries along the way.

Zenith Aircraft's Sebastien Heintz will present a webinar as part of EAA Homebuilders Week, titled Zenith Aircraft Kits & Plans, on Friday, Jan 26, 2:30 - 3:45 p.m. CST, to share updates from Zenith Aircraft Company and to discuss available kit aircraft designs from Zenith, the different ways to build (ie. kit or plans-only), and the different ways to finish the aircraft (engine and avionics choices, etc.).

This is a free educational webinar, and is recommended to first time builders who are considering building their own aircraft. Registration is required. Sign up here and don't forget to invite your friends to the free webinar.
