Hello Glastonbury!

I don’t know about you, but I’m looking forward to spending this summer at the Library’s Summer Reading Surf Club. We’re excited to be offering an exciting lineup of ocean-themed activities for all ages throughout the summer – not to mention our annual Reading Challenge that will hopefully inspire your whole household to read along with us! To prepare for season, we’ve been creating summer playlists on Freegal, adding to our eBook and eAudio book collections (road trips, here we come!), and renewing the Library's dozens of magazines so you’ll have something to flip thorugh by the pool. Whether you visit to check out some books, join us for a seaglass craft workshop, an aquarium touch tank, or our Ella Waters Summer Beach Party Concert, we hope you use this summer to take advantage of your hometown library.

 Happy Reading,

Amy

Ride a title wave at Welles-Turner Memorial Library by joining the Summer Reading Surf Club!

With programs for children, teens, and adults, everyone is invited to read to receive our 2023 T-shirt. Even babies have a special program just for them! The club encourages reading throughout the summer in all formats–book, e-books, and audiobooks–on your own or together as a family. Children are challenged to read daily to receive rewards each week. Teens and adults are entered into drawings for weekly gift cards and grand prizes.

Hop on your board and begin reading on Monday, June 12th. Entries must be received by Saturday, August 12th to qualify for prizes. Generous support for the Summer Reading Program courtesy of The Friends of the Welles-Turner Memorial Library.

Thank you for a successful book sale!

Thank you to all who came to the book sale to support the Friends!

Without the volunteers, the sale would not happen! Glastonbury is such a supportive community.

Special thanks to TD Bank for securing our inclement weather location, just in case. Thank you also to Angelo's Pizza & Restaurant, Stop & Shop, Whole Foods and Dunkin' Donuts, who provided snacks to our volunteers throughout the day.
