A month ago, a storm knocked out our power at the center, and I found myself reflecting on a moment I’ll never forget. A young woman, determined to pursue an abortion, had just received an ultrasound before the power failed. I felt a deep compassion for her and a sense of powerlessness to change her mind. We stayed in touch, inviting her to come in for another appointment, but she remained set on her decision. We did what we know to do—offer encouragement, extend love, and pray.
A few days ago, she called to say she wanted another ultrasound. Praise God, she chose to continue with her pregnancy! A baby was saved, and we pledged to walk with her every step of the way. That is why we do what we do: to save babies and to show the love of God to women facing unimaginable choices.
Our vision at CPC for Gaston County and for our state is not only to end abortion but to transform our culture into one that cherishes life and upholds its sanctity.
On September 12, we will celebrate life at our annual Walk for Life at City Church. This event honors families, acknowledges 40 years of loving moms and babies, and invites the whole community to join in support. If you haven’t already made plans, we’d love to see you there. It will be an enjoyable, family-friendly gathering-giving God all the glory!
Your support matters. A donation helps us provide life-affirming care, compassionate mentorship, and essential resources to women choosing life. Donations are appreciated but not required to attend. If you’re able to contribute, please consider giving today and know you’re making a direct impact in the lives of mothers and babies in our community.
Thank you for standing with us as we champion life and walk beside families on their journey. We hope to see you at the Walk for Life!
In His Service,
Desirée Miller
