Decolonizing Wampanoag Identity through the Wôpanâak Language & Culture

Nitana Hicks Greendeer, PhD has worked as a teacher of the Wôpanâak language for over 20 years. She is the head of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe's School and teaches at Brown University.


Dr. Greendeer is coming to CPL to discuss, through personal story, the ways in which learning the Wôpanâak Language is strengthening her people’s connection to their culture and their homeland.


This presentation will be held in Community Rooms AB.

Memory Loss 101
Caregiver Resources with Stacey Cullen

This program will provide an overview of normal aging, age-related forgetfulness and serious memory problems.


As we age subtle changes in memory occur naturally as part of the aging process. However, sometimes these changes occur sooner than anticipated or faster than expected. Learn what's normal, and what's not.

Revenge of the Sea Wolf
Local Author Talk with Joseph Theroux

Join us in welcoming local author Joseph Theroux who will discuss his newest book,

Revenge of the Sea Wolf.


His book tells the story of Alexander McClean, the sailor who was the inspiration for a ruthless character in Jack London’s The Sea Wolf.


Copies of Theroux's book will be available for purchase after the program.

Áine Cole

June 2026


Áine is a watercolor and acrylic artist from Cotuit who loves experimenting with color and form. She paints in both abstract and realistic styles and is greatly influenced by nature.


No matter where she is in the world, Áine always carries a small sketchbook and some paints.


Áine's art will be on display in the front lobby for the month of June, with select pieces available for purchase. A portion of sales benefit the library.
