The ad is displayed on Facebook and Instagram. Where someone who saw it made an anonymous complaint. A hearing was held. Canada's advertising industry watchdog spent months examining whether our advertisement should have been allowed to run.
Think about that for a moment.
Thousands of innocent human lives are lost every year through abortion, and thousands more Canadians now die through doctor-assisted suicide. Yet the controversy was not abortion. The controversy was not euthanasia.
The controversy was an advertisement criticizing both.
In many ways, the reaction proved the very point our advertisement is making.
Our ad challenges politicians who refuse to speak honestly about abortion and euthanasia. It questions why so many elected officials remain silent on some of the most profound moral issues of our time.
Rather than engage the argument, critics complained about the advertisement itself.
Political speech is not something that should be regulated by private industry bodies. But we will not be intimidated into silence.
Prolife Alberta will continue to speak plainly about these issues.
The debate that many politicians would prefer to avoid is not going away.
And neither are we.
Thank you for standing with Prolife Alberta. Your support allows us to continue speaking plainly about Canada's pro-death culture - even when doing so makes powerful people uncomfortable.
If you would like to help us continue this work, please consider making a tax-deductible contribution today.
For Life. For Alberta.
