POSTCARD FROM MISSION u RETREAT:

Greetings from UT-D! We had a great time together. Loved the study book: "Welcome Home " about drawing closer to God and one another. What a great experience! I enjoyed the fellowship most. More attended the retreat this year, including 15 first-timers. If you couldn't come you can still register for the evening or lunchtime Mission u options and feel the Kin-dom among you!

WE CAN HELP SUPPORT WOMEN IN STATE OF DISMAL HEALTHCARE

DALLAS MORNING NEWS: (7/18/24) "Texas is the second to worst state in the country to be a woman with health issues, according to new findings from the Commonwealth Fund, a research foundation dedicated to improving health care."

Abide in square-white

We chose Abide for our '24 Mission Project because they are improving the disparities in maternal health here in our North Texas community.

How can you and your group help?

  • Learn about Abide's mission, midwives and happy families with resources on our 2024 Mission Project webpage with your small group or on your own.
  • Help provide what Abide needs by shopping online or locally
  • Create hand-made Baby Items: Could you crochet a baby hat?

Your support will help Abide reach more families and improve birth outcomes right here in the DFW area. Shop online or bring items to a fall Annual Mtg.

GRACE OVER GREED

As women of faith we need to be aware of and knowledgeable about legislative budget issues that impact women, children and youth in our communities. Issues and decisions that elevate selfish greed over the needs of all humanity, especially those on the margins. Read more to learn what’s at stake when we don’t stand up and speak out.

"VIDAS ROBODAS"

THE STOLEN LIVES PROJECT

Groups across Texas are adding names of gun violence victims with age and date of their death on T-shirts. These shirts are a powerful representation of those lives in their community cut short by gun violence. Too many victims! Your can customize T-shirts like the UWFaith group* above. Send us your pictures!

This is a great hands-on mission activity. Shirts can be displayed this fall locally and then be part of the display in Austin for the 2025 legislative session. More info here.
