Thimble Islands Tour

Spouses & Significant Others Welcome!

 The Thimble Islands in the Stony Creek section of Branford, CT have been used for everything from farming to quarrying granite, from bootlegging to hiding Captain Kidd’s treasure. Today the islands have many fine homes and a national wildlife refuge.

Join us for a 45-minute boat tour of the Thimble Islands aboard the 49 passenger Sea Mist tour boat, 10:15 am on Wednesday August 20, 2025.

Following the boat tour, those who wish may visit the local history museum or enjoy an interesting stroll on a former trolley right-of-way (about .5 miles.)

Lunch options are light fare from one of the establishments at Thimble Islands, or a short drive to one of the several dining establishments

in the Stony Creek/Branford area. Suggestions will be given,

--GETTING THERE--

It is about an hour and a half drive to the dock at 4 Indian Point Road in Branford, CT. Meet at the Sherwood Island Connector Park and Ride (Exit 18) at 8:30 am to carpool or meet us at the dock by 10:00. Leave time to find parking. Park on the street or check parking at the Church across from the beach.

The boat boards at 10:00 am and leaves promptly at 10:15 am.

NOTE: Attendees will self-organize carpools; T&E will not be arranging them.

--TICKETS--

Members going on this event will be buying tickets directly from the tour operator. Y’s Men is not purchasing tickets for attendees and there is no block of seats reserved for Y’s Men. Tickets for the cruise cost $17.00 for seniors and should be purchased on the Sea Mist website as soon as possible as tours do sell out. Tickets may also be purchased at the dock subject to availability.
