Summer is Heating Up at MCCH!
As we enter the final days of July, it's amazing to see all that MCCH and our clients have accomplished in 2020 despite the challenges of the pandemic. MCCH continues to navigate these challenges and move people into homes of their own while providing essential services to all of our clients. Here are a few summer updates about what's happening at MCCH and what's to come!
Are you ready to turn care into action? Join our 30x30 Move-In Kit Challenge! MCCH makes donation drives easy by providing you a personal sign up page with the needed items already listed. All you have to do is send the list to your group, ensure all items are being provided, and drop off your donation! Click here for more details.

Our How to Help During COVID-19 web page has been updated with new donation needs and updated information on donating meals.

We are in the process of adjusting our annual Back to School Fair due to COVID-19 restrictions, so stay tuned for more information!
MCCH is searching for a Lead Case Manager for our Veterans Affairs Safe Havens program. The Lead Case Manager provides an overall support system structure for the clients in the Veterans Affairs (VA) Safe Havens Program and refers them to local agencies and VA centers for vocational, educational, and health and human services. Supervises VA Safe Havens House Manager and other VA staff such as a Case Manager and provides guidance on the overall operations and management of the VA Safe Havens under the direction of the Program Director.

Donors Making a Difference
Thanks to all of our fantastic donors who have supported MCCH and our clients this summer! We'd like to give a special thank you to Enterprise Rental Car and ManTech. A very BIG thank you to Homegoods and the TJX Corporation for supporting families in need of shelter and permanent housing with a $10,000 donation as part of their Grand Re-Opening of the Homegoods Gaithersburg location. 
We also want to shout out Catalyst Church for including us in their Day of Service Project!  These awesome volunteers dropped off over 50 planters with flowers, 144 lunch meals and 50 children’s gift bags at MCCH locations. In addition to this project, they provide a weekly lunch for our 32 Cordell Place residents as a great ongoing source of support.  Care into action never tasted so good!
MCCH Facebook Group Provides Direct Support to People in Need!

This quote from one of our case managers highlights how encouraging a donation from our Urgent Needs Task Force Facebook group can be! This group connects caring community members with MCCH clients who are in need of items to end their homelessness or thrive after ending their homelessness.

Even through the pandemic, these dedicated supporters have continued to provide urgently needed items to our clients! In the past month, the group donated funds for a high school graduate to receive his physical diploma, furniture for our shelter client who is ending his homelessness, and many other meaningful items.

Although it may seem like a small gesture, donating these items shows our clients that their community cares about them. When recovering from the trauma of homelessness, that reminder can be a glimmer of light in the darkness.
