Janet Carpenter has been a long-time community volunteer and United Way supporter. As it became more difficult for her to continue with traditional volunteer activities, she thought outside the box for ways to continue to give back.
About 5 years ago, she began to knit animals and dolls for roughly two hours each day. Through a partnership with United Way of Yellowstone County and the Best Beginnings Council, the animals and dolls are given to children who receive services from the many agencies we partner with.
A thankful mother recently commented: “Thank you so much for the little knitted animals! My kids love them, especially my two year old. He carries it everywhere and even sleeps with it. You are a blessing to us.”
Janet says she is especially glad she is able to give back during the COVID-19 isolation, and so are we! She dropped off the collection pictured above for families receiving diapers from the recent Day of Action Community Diaper Drive (Through).
Thank you Janet!
