Have you heard the news this week – Porsche has announced it is the official car of Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca. They plan to open a Porsche Driving Center at
the raceway in 2026. I’ll be at the raceway this weekend for the IMSA races and look forward to finding out more detail.
Since it is the 70th anniversary year I decided it is a good year to attend the Porsche Parade.
What a crazy week. Getting registered, finding hotel reservations & flights. Then I realized I never did the Real ID. Needless to say, there was a search for documents, lots of online paperwork and a day of standing in line at DMV. Finally have that behind me so I can now just look forward to Parade.
I know Oklahoma City may not sound like a vacation destination but I am looking forward to exploring whatever they have to offer. This will be my 30th Porsche Parade. It has allowed me the opportunity to see cities I would never have visited and I have never been disappointed.
Along with the traditional competition and social events there will be some very special historical displays for the anniversary. It is always a great time to catch up with old Porsche friends and make a few new ones along the way.
If you can’t make OKC consider 2026 which will be in Lake Placid NY. I attended the last one there back in 1994. It is still one of my favorite Parade locations. Very picturesque and full of Olympics history.
I know I am not the only Redwood member attending. Craig Steele is also going.
Anyone else? Let Craig or I know.
Hope to see you at one of our many great events coming up in May and June.
Hope to see you at an event soon.

Hello from Stuttgard!
What an amazing experience of two fantastic days at the home
of Porsche.
We were treated with the best of hospitality by the company!

I will share my experience with you next month as we are still traveling on the Rhine River!
Feel free to reach out anytime at email.

Uncle Ferry wants you to join the P.O.S.S.E!
May 25, 8 am to 10 am.
What’s this, you ask?
It’s the Porsche Owners Sunday Social Event…
Who’s invited?
Any Porsche owner or driver, regardless of the model they have.
When is it?
Every fourth Sunday of the month from 8 am to 10 am.
Where is it?
In front of Starbucks, at the familiar Vintage Oaks Shopping Center, in Novato.
How much will it cost?
Nothing, nada, zip, zero.
Why is this happening?
It’s an opportunity for Porsche owners to have an informal get-together, at a North Bay location, before going to brunch, heading to the hills, cruising to the coast… or, wherever one wishes to drive that day. It’s a chance to meet and talk to your fellow Porsche owners. It’s a chance to put names and faces with the cars. It’s a chance to show off your ride!
See you there!

Craig Steele
Tour Leader
I’m inviting all Porsche Parade Registrants driving to Parade to join me at Victorville’s California Route 66 Museum. You may meet me on July 1st at Victorville or starting on the morning of July 2nd at around 10 AM at the museum parking lot. I will start my first driver’s meeting and covering entire 1250 miles route and four days of events to get us to PCA’s 69th annual event and 70th anniversary of PCA celebration by July 5th. I’m following the eastbound Route 66 (I-40) map and putting all drivers behind their Porsches for 18-20 hours.
During our first day, we will experience the historical Route 66 highway between Kingman AZ and Seligman AZ, stopping at the Hackberry General Store same way countless cars did in the 1920-30’s. Later that day, we will be eating at the Flagstaff’s Galaxy Diner before turning in at our lodging for a well-deserved rest. On July 3rd, we have a driver’s meeting before "Standing on the Corner" park with the Eagles and Jackson Brown in Winslow Az.. Later, we are passing the Continental divide before our travels end at Old Town Albuquerque where we are dining at the Dog House’s or 66 Dinner’s restaurants plus staying overnight at El Vado Motel.

On Independence Day, July 4th we have another driver meeting, before heading for Tucumcari’s New Mexico Route 66 Museum and dining at Del’s Restaurant. We finish our day cross into Texas and visiting the Texan Midpoint Café, the halfway point of Route 66 from Chicago to Santa Monica Pier (LA). The café has great pies to eat and lot of souvenirs for sale. Next is ‘The Big Texan’ Steak Ranch where if you eat 72oz. steak in 60 minutes challenge you get it for free, miss the time you pay the bill. Lastly, finding the best Texan Fourth of July Fireworks display to experience. Then turn in for the night, ready to start our last day.
On July 5th attending our last drivers meeting, before driving to Shamrock, Texas for a meal at Tower Station and U-Drop Inn Café and viewing the States of Route 66 mural. Driving across the Oklahoma state line where we are visiting our third and very robust Route 66 Museum in Clinton, OK. Now you are in the home stretch to OKC and heading for lodging before your registering for Porsche Parade the next morning on Sunday, July 6th.
Hope to see you during the Parade’s week’s event, I am staying at Courtyard Oklahoma City
Downtown. I am also planning a return trip through Santa Fe, Las Vegas and finally South Lake Tahoe before heading home to Santa Rosa Ca.
I am currently getting final approval from the Redwood Region EC and must get an approved
budget, permission to use insurance waivers plus use of our LD radios and the sweep bags.
I used Mark Watson’s "ROUTE 66 TRAVEL GUIDE 202 AMAZING PLACES, EASTBOUND EDITION" ($20 Amazon) The book has a great road music list as well as scan QR codes and navigation.
If you have any questions, p;lease text Craig at 707-953-1100 or email.

4th Annual Ironstone Concours d'Elegance
Murphys, California
September 25 to 28, 2025

Jeff Hall
Tour Leader
If you’ve joined us before for the Murphys weekend featuring the Ironstone Concours then you know what a special weekend it is… If you haven’t been to the event before, well, there’s a reason we’ve doing this going on four years!
We caravan up to Murphys from the Jelly Belly Factory in Fairfield stopping along the way for a relaxing lunch before motoring into town. Most of the members stay in the Victoria Inn which we usually take over each year. We take advantage of the beautiful, well- and recently paved roads with twists, turns and tumbles through Calaveras
County. A longer tour on Friday includes lunch and a shorter tour on Saturday finishes at our own, private corral (on a grassy knoll) just outside the Concours gates. A tailgate party has been known to break out prior to entry into the event!
This year, renown Porsche artist, Kelly Telfer (look for his name on the WERKS Reunion
posters every year) will be treating us to lunch at his studio in Sonora! We’ll also be enjoying
our ‘historic’ BBQ dinner at the Murphys Historic Hotel patio on Friday evening!
Saturday dinner is usually something new every year.
And less we forget, the Ironstone Concours is on Saturday with 300 cars featuring 30 or so
marques and, yes, there usually are a few Porsches mixed in between the Packards, Allards, Jaguars, Panteras and antique Airstream trailers… The ‘pre-war’ (WW I) car races are not to be missed! When was the last time you witnessed helmet-less drivers in goggles in jump suits firing up a 1915 car that may or may not make it around the dusty, dirt track? Somehow, they all do!

Rooms at the Victoria Inn are SOLD OUT! You can still join us in Murphys for this event, but you must procure your own lodging. There are numerous hotels, inns, VRBOs, etc. in and around Murphys and Angels Camp. There are still rooms available just not at the Victoria Inn!
So, if you’re interested, the room is of the utmost importance –
Registration for tickets, dinners, etc. will be available soon!
If you have any questions, please contact Jeff Hall

One of the best benefits of membership in PCA is receiving Panorama Magazine.
Anyone else remember when it was only 6.5 x 9.5? Did you know the intent was to fit in the glovebox of a 356? It has grown in size to standard magazine and in content become one of the premier Porsche publications in the world.
Today PCA communication has evolved well beyond Panorama. There is an excellent website and a presence on most social media platforms. We have a You Tube channel and very informative podcasts. Other publications include the weekly "E-Brake" and for us with 4 door models the monthly "Perfourmance".

Ben Davoren
Redwood Charity Liaison
Our April “Charity Adventure IV” was a great success, with 18 club members coming out to assist the Redwood Empire Food Bank in its mission to feed the hungry of Sonoma, Mendocino, Lake, and Del Norte counties. 10 cars ran our “pre-work” tour, this year in a clockwise direction going out Chalk Hill Road to Highway 128, then back around on Franz Valley Road to end up back in Windsor. It was a gorgeous day and the hills were a stunning emerald green. The drive had its moments although one pickup truck in particular seemed to think it was the lead car for our group! Thanks to Jeff Hall, Joe Burroughs, Don Nohai and our radio marshal Craig Steele for assisting with mid and sweep duties. We had our bits of separation but good communication got us all back together when it counted!

At the Food Bank, it was apple-sorting day in “the big room”. Managing boxes that were over 40 pounds each was a challenge, but in the end, as a team, we boxed over 11,000 pounds of apples so that they would be distributed the next day to families in our region. That’s more than 9,000 meals worth of crunchy goodness, and a lot of doctor visits avoided if you believe the old saw!
After 3 hours of fruit handling we headed off to the Barley & Bine Beer Café just a few minutes away in Windsor. We were able to all sit together at the long high-top table and enjoyed the wide variety of libations and street-style tacos that this fun place has to offer, as our reward for a hard morning of work. We hope you will join us for the next edition which will probably be in the fall.
Thanks again to our volunteers David Bunch, Joe Burroughs, Lisa Davoren, John Dolan, Essy Fariab, Duke Ferris, Eileen Gaines, Jeff Hall, Greg Matsumoto, Don Nohai, Reuben Rivera, Terry and Marlene Rosenthal, Craig Steele, Brad and Lorna Williams, and Rod Williams.

In other charity news, our longstanding primary charity, Sonoma CASA wanted to remind you that May is Foster Care Month and they are welcoming sponsors for their Pinwheels for Prevention campaign to help prevent child abuse. They will also have their second annual team golf tournament at the Windsor Golf Course on August 22nd where all proceeds benefit their mission. Homeward Bound of Marin is completing the buildout of their Novato campus with their free grand opening of the Gilardi Training and Events Center on June 5th. Lastly, as Rick Duste reported in last month’s dR, the Rohnert Park Tech High Robotic Team that we sponsor
designed and built two new “battle bots” this year and took second and fourth place at the regional High School competition held in Sacramento.
Unrelated to charity, but an event I’ve organized the last three years, is our Martorana Winery Tour, Tasting, Lunch, and (optionally) Bocce Ball event; this year it will be Sunday June 1st. Registration is open, limited to 50 attendees. We start at the end of the monthly Cars & Coffee that takes place at Vintage Oaks Shopping Center in Novato and enjoy a two-hour backroads driving tour before settling into the grounds of the Martorana Family Winery in West Dry Creek Valley near Healdsburg. I hope you can make it. It should be cooler than the last couple of years when it has been mid-summer.
