Join the Library and the Park District for an eclipse-viewing party at Scoville Park! Watch the sky darken this Monday as the moon passes in front of the face of the sun. We have a limited number of viewing glasses available. Plus, learn how to make your own pinhole viewer!

Final Call for Lifeguards!

Swim Test: Sunday, Apr 7


The summer is almost here, and we're wrapping up hiring for our 2024 lifeguards! Our FINAL swim test is this weekend, so get your applications in now if you want to join our aquatic safety team this summer.


All you need to do to get hired is:


  • Submit an application (no resume required)
  • Complete a swim test: swim 100 yards, tread water for 2 minutes, retrieve a brick from 12 feet underwater (click on the video above for details)
  • Accept your offer!


We'll take it from there. From CPR/AED to first aid to lifeguard licensing, you'll learn everything you need to know, and get paid for your training time. At $15.75/hour, this is the perfect summer gig.

Docent-Led Tour of Pleasant Home

Join our docents for a special Sunday tour of Pleasant Home! From the intricate stained-glass windows to the rich family history of the home, soak in the sights and learn from our knowledgeable team of docents.


We request a $2 donation or non-perishable food item to benefit Beyond Hunger.


Tours are also available every Thursday from 11:00A-4:00P, plus one Sunday per month.
