The Cottleville Firefighter Outreach is getting ready for another successful year of events on March 16, 2019. The Cottleville St. Patrick's Day Run & Parade is under new management and is now the Shamrock Run & Parade.
All proceeds will support the
CFO's ongoing fundraising efforts.
Parade Route, Barricades
This year the parade route starts on Weiss Road near the Warren Elementary school entrance. It will travel down Weiss Road on to Hwy. N through historic downtown Cottleville and end at Francis Howell Central High School entrance. The float pathway will be narrowed allowing plenty of room behind the barricades for parade watchers along the route and on shoulders of the roadway.
Tents & Setting Up Early to Watch the Parade
Thank you for your interest in our Shamrock Run & Parade. We will set out barricades on the Thursday and Friday before the event. Once they are in place, public spaces are first-come, first-serve. Tents can be set up only after the barricades are erected on Friday 3/15/19. On Saturday morning, they will move the barricades inward towards the road to open up more sidewalk space. You will need to be present when they do that to retain your spot. The City of Cottleville and parade committee will allow tents and chairs so long as they meet the following guidelines:
- They are set up after the barricades have been placed. Any tents or other items staged before barricades are set up will be removed.
- They are not blocking or inhibiting movement on public sidewalks, trails, parking spaces or intersections.
- They are not inhibiting the movement of the barricades. Any tents or other items that are physically attached to the barricades will be removed so that we can adjust the barricades on Saturday morning and open them in the event of an emergency.
- They are not on private property without the owner's permission.
Any items that do not meet these criteria will be confiscated by the Police Department and will be available for pickup at the Cottleville City Hall on the following Monday only.
