Around the holiday season, people tend to email, tweet and post an image that has inaccurate information about Goodwill and other nonprofits and charities. The image says to "think before you donate," and we agree. We also hope you will "think before you repost." Let us clear up the rumors for you. If you are giving to a nonprofit or charity this holiday season, do some research! Contact the organization. Talk to their executives. Ask for a visit or tour. We promise, you'll be glad you did!

Goodwill Houston is local - we are YOUR Goodwill. We currently serve the counties of Harris, Montgomery, Walker, Fort Bend, Galveston, Brazoria and Austin. We employ more than 2,000 people, many with some type of barrier to self-sufficiency. Goodwill Houston is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We have a local President/CEO, Steve Lufburrow, a local board of directors, and we are not owned by any individual or company. In essence, we belong to YOU, and we are proud to be your Goodwill.
