Introducing Think Contra Costa

We are thrilled to introduce Think Contra Costa, a groundbreaking initiative from WDBCCC. This program brings together a powerful network of organizations throughout the county, with a singular focus on nurturing, expanding, and retaining businesses of all sizes.

Why It Matters

Addressing Workforce Shortages: With 40% of residents commuting to neighboring counties for work, Think Contra Costa aims to bridge the gap

and bolster the local workforce.

Tackling Unique Challenges: Housing shortages, homelessness, and a lack

of affordable housing are specific issues that demand attention.

Empowering Entrepreneurs: We're determined to provide businesses, regardless of their stage, with invaluable resources, consultations, events,

and funding opportunities, both in-person and virtually.

Advancing Diversity: This initiative supports minority business owners, who make up 45% of all California business owners, compared to the national average of 20%.

Join the Movement

Think Contra Costa has joined forces with key partners, including East Bay Works, GoBIZ, the Small Business Development Center East Bay, and chambers of commerce. Whether you're an emerging entrepreneur or an established business, we invite you to explore the possibilities.

Jobseeker Success:

Determination & The Right Resources

 Unlock New Beginnings

In a remarkable journey of transformation and growth, Fabian Romero has recently secured the position of Water Treatment Operator Trainee with the City of San Diego. His success story is a testament to the power of dedication and guidance, and it all began with his enrollment in the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program with Rubicon Programs.

Fabian faced the challenge of crafting a resume that effectively bridged the gap between his past experience in the medical field and his aspirations in the water/wastewater industry.

With the invaluable assistance of Kathy and the WIOA team, Fabian's resume was not just made presentable but also profoundly relatable to his desired career transition. The WIOA program played a pivotal role in helping him create a compelling cover letter that emphasized his transferable skills.

This journey not only reflects Fabian's determination but also underscores the significance of programs like WIOA in helping individuals unlock their potential and pursue new career paths.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Fabian Romero on his well-deserved success and wish him all the best in this exciting new chapter of his career.

"With the help of Kathy and the WIOA team, I was not only able to craft a resume that was presentable [but] more importantly relatable."
