CONVERSATIONS ARE VITAL IN
COVID-19 LOCK DOWN
The unprecedented lock down of metropolitan Melbourne for six weeks as part of the community strategy to combat the coronavirus and keep our community safe changes our normal daily lives and the amount of contact we have with family and friends.
Having conversations with family, friends, neighbours and work colleagues, who are isolated during this lock down period, is vital to people's well being and mental health.
Through the outstanding work of the Think Pink Living Centre, under the guidance of our Breast Care Nurse and Manager, Andrea Cannon, our staff, Think Pink volunteers and session facilitators, many of these conversations take place every day via the online platform Zoom, or via the telephone, as demand for the unique Think Pink services grows by the day.
Last Thursday, Dr Katie Allen MP, Federal Member for Higgins, was a guest speaker to one of the online seminars with 40 participants to discuss COVID-19. Ms Allen is no stranger to the Think Pink community having stepped in to officially launch the new Think Pink Living Centre on behalf of the Federal Minister for Health, the Hon. Greg Hunt MP.
