Demand For Think Pink Services Zooms Ahead
Online Attendance Jumps 300%
.... twelve hundred attendances involving fourteen different programs which provided a total of one hundred and twenty sessions between April to early August.
The Think Pink Foundation, forced to temporarily close its new centre in Docklands as part of the COVID-19 lockdown, has overcome the impact of the deadly virus by taking all of its free services online. This has increased the Think Pink services by 300% since the transition commenced in April 2020.
Chairman of the Think Pink Foundation, Ron Smith said, "under the guidance of our Breast Care Nurse and Manager, Andrea Cannon, Think Pink staff, volunteers and session facilitators, have developed an extensive, innovative program to break down the social isolation of many clients."
Andrea Cannon, Think Pink Breast Care Nurse and Living Centre Manager, said,
"there had been over twelve hundred attendances involving fourteen different programs which provided a total of one hundred and twenty sessions between April to early August.
Ms Cannon said the reasons for the success of the Think Pink online program is that it is designed with care and sensitivity to meet the needs of Breast Cancer patients. It is free and accessible from anywhere via the internet on PC, laptop or mobile phone.
"Since starting the Think Pink Online Zoom program in April, we have been pleased to hear from many past clients of Think Pink in country Victoria.
"Many have rejoined because they can now easily access Think Pink activities directly from home."
Mr Smith said the Board of Think Pink is working hard to secure extra funding to maintain and extend services and will be expanding Think Pink's online programs into regional and country areas.

What Clients are Saying About Think Pink
Firstly, thank you for having gone miles above and beyond your call of duty, for taking care of me and my family during the most difficult time of our lives. As soon as the diagnosis happened, you made sure my extended medical team knew about my changed health condition.
When I was in hospital, things went a little pear shaped to my family to say the least. When I got home, you did everything in your control to make sure not only myself, but also my husband and children were OK.
The word “OK” is so short and simple, but it means the world to someone facing a crisis such as ours. Secondly, in the last two months, my world has changed with the second diagnosis; and the world has changed with COVID-19.
Thank goodness my Think Pink world hasn’t really changed! I really like how Think Pink still have the regular sessions via Zoom, even though I haven’t really been attending but it really provides relief for our mental health, including mine, knowing it’s there when I am up to it.
Well done Andrea and the Think Pink team! And, may I save the best for last: You and Ros are there for me as always!
Take care and best wishes, Nicole.
