PREPARING FOR WORSHIP

Pastor Trudy's message

We welcome the newly baptized into community, knowing that we can't do a life of faith on our own. After Jesus was baptized however, he was driven by the Spirit away from community... further into the wilderness where He was tested. He comes back after His testing and begins to build a different kind of community—a community that is all about healing. What might this say about our times of testing?

God of Wilderness, You are our home, Lord, and with You we find all the community we need. Help us when we are tested and help us to build a new, healing community in response to our testing. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Death and taxes are the only certainties in life...since there are CPA's to help with your taxes, we will do some work together to de-mystify death, funerals, first responders, hospice and palliative care. These are stand alone classes so feel free to come to one or all.

Bells are Ringing, Choir is Singing!

Have you ever thought it might be fun to ring a bell or sing in the choir? Now's the time to join one or both of these groups! We welcome ages high school through adult. Please contact Amy Steenson for more information. Rehearsal schedules:

Bell choir - Mondays at 7 pm. NEW ringers welcome, music reading is a plus.
Choir - Wednesdays at 7:30 pm. NEW singers welcome!

Senior Lunch Bunch This Sunday!

We're kicking off the new year with lunch at Lumes (1902 Fabyan Parkway, Batavia)! All those 65+ years old are invited to these monthly outings! For more information and to RSVP contact Cindy Yeo.

Women in the Middle

Fourth Tuesday of the month @ 7:30 pm

Begins January 24 @ GLC

This NEW small group is a space for women, who are busy during the day, to decompress and find community. We'll learn a new spiritual practice each month to equip us with ways to find rest and peace between the many items on our schedules! Cookies and hot beverages will be provided. Contact Vicar Sharai for more information.

We have some very exciting staff anniversaries to celebrate this year! On the weekend of January 21- 22 we'll be celebrating each of these treasured staff members!

Let's shower them with cards! There are baskets in the Narthex to drop off your cards of appreciation. Blank cards will be provided also. Come for worship and Coffee in the Middle on Sunday, January 22 to celebrate these staff members and their service to our congregation! #generouslifeinChrist

Your Generosity in Action!

In December GLC presented a check for more than $16,000 to TriCity Family Services. This represents 2% of all income in the 2021-22 budget year. We are so grateful for partners like TCFS, who provide essential mental health services to families right here in our community.
