SC Humanities welcomes Alice Taylor-Colbert, Ph.D. to the staff this month.

In her new role as the Development and Special Initiatives Officer, Alice will assist the board and staff with special initiatives, supervise the creation of the South Carolina Humanities archives, write grants, and engage in development activities with the Executive Director.

Alice Taylor-Colbert holds a M.A. and Ph.D. degree in American Studies from Emory University. She previously served as Director of Innovation and tenured Professor of History at the Palmetto College of the University of South Carolina. She assisted the Chancellor in strategic planning, college initiatives, program development, grant writing, innovation grant management, and special project management. She served as Campus Dean at USC Union and as a Dean and Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs at Lander University.
